chapter 2: meeting with kagaya

So both of them started on their way to the ubayashiki estate. Shinobu is humming a simple tune, with her lost in her thoughts of what kind of symptoms this new poison will cause to this demon.

'I hope this demon we come across will die a painful death because of my work...' her smile turned sinister with glee, though you couldn't tell that from a simple glance.

Giyu on the hand is watching his partner subtly, just mentally mapping out her features. From her hair with purple tips, to her unique and beautiful eyes and finally, to her nose and red, plump lips that are curled up into a smile....

Lips...

The man had to look away before he had the weird and sudden urge to kiss those lips of hers. He had been staring at them for too long. She however didn't notice his plight, as she continued to hum her tune while still deep in thought.

As they were walking, she looked up in front of her and laughed hard suddenly. It was a hearty laugh, the kind were this person hadn't laughed like that for a long time. Though giyu was sure shinobu hadn't laughed like this, if at all, since her sisters death.

The kind of laugh that had underlying tones in it-

The reason why she started laughing? Its because of how she imagined the demon dying in her head. The smile turned a bit psychotic. 'Oh my... internal bleeding AND multiple organ failure are such an interesting combination of symptoms... if both can occur in quick succession of each other, the demon's last moments on this earth shall be a painful one.'

She then went back to humming, like nothing has happened. Giyu meanwhile is slightly concerned about her mood swings, though his emotionless facade isn't showing that. He kept staring at her.

Eventually she noticed his gaze on her.

"Tomioka-san is there a reason you keep staring at me?" She looked towards him. He didn't answer her however. A vein started to throb on her forehead from anger.

"If you stare at the person, at least give a reason for it, are you perhaps mute and cannot speak tomioka-san~" her voice dripped with spite. Giyu blinked at her harsh words, but still said noting about it.

"...kocho are you ok?" He said quietly. She gave him a kind smile, almost like her genuine one.

"Of course, why wouldn't i be ok~"

At ubayashiki estate:

The two pillars have reached kagaya's house. After shinobu's odd and unexpected laughing fit, she had teased giyu like normal until they got there, but, her heart rate increased when and after he asked if she's ok.

She almost faltered with her expression but managed to look composed when she answered him. 'He's worried for me?!! I am touched. My pulse won't come down... tomioka-san's words have this much of an effect on me...' her thoughts are all over the place. She is starting leaning to the side of being in love with giyu now, though she isn't sure.

They are now in front of the ubayashiki estate's and have now entered it to find kagaya. When they eventually found him, he is sitting so they do the same, placing their swords down and sat in a kneeling position, in front of him.

Shinobu greeted him first. "Good morning to you oyakata-sama. I hope today has been well for you and you are in good health."

Kagaya, drinking his tea, smiled at both of them. "Thank you shinobu. Good morning my children, i am glad to see you doing well."

"Yes, we are doing ok." Shinobu answered again. The blind man put his cup down.

"Sorry for making you come here early in the morning, but its for the upmost importance." The hashira perked up at their masters words, another joint mission for them.

"There have been a demon sighting in and around the area around ueno park. Its a park located a few hours from here... we already sent lower ranked demon slayers to the area, but unfortunately they were all killed and eaten by the demon..." kagaya said.

"...could this demon be one of the 12 kizuki?" Giyu, surprisingly, asked. Kagaya shook his head.

"I don't think its a member 12 kizuki, but maybe on par with one. I do think its probable it could be one however, you mustn't refute that fact, my children." He said. The pillars nodded, but of course kagaya couldn't see.

"Hai oyakata-sama." Shinobu said.

"I mustn't keep you waiting. Giyu, shinobu, i wish you good luck and to vanquish the man-eating demon from this earth." He smiled.

Shinobu stood up and giyu followed after her. "We will." She answered with a bow, giyu bowed with her.

Kagaya waved at them."Have a great journey." Shinobu opened the sliding door and went through it. Giyu gave one final bow to kagaya then followed the smaller woman.

Kagaya then picked up the neglected tea cup, the contents of which have gone lukewarm. Amane came and sat down next to him. He kept drinking, not acknowledging his wife next to him.

"You seem to enjoy sending those two on missions together... sometimes, i wonder if you have some ulterior motive for it." She pondered. Kagaya gave her a cheeky grin.

"Who said i don't have another reason."

With gysn:

Shinobu smiled at finally being able to use her new poison she made, so happy in fact, she giggled. Giyu, being the quiet and observant man he is, watched her out of the corner of his eye.

She turned to him suddenly, startling him. She jabbed his side, like normal, giyu fought the urge to sigh.

"I was suprised you answered oyakata-sama, so you can talk~" at this, he did sigh.

"Lets just focus on the mission..." he reminded her.

"Who do you take me for tomioka-san?" She scoffed at him. He opened his mouth to say something, she interrupted him, she almost used her fingers as her breathing technique, giyu choked.

"Do not answer that." She smiled dangerously. He nodded.

"I am taking this seriously~ i am trying to lighten up the mood a little."

She started running. "Lets go~" and he ran after her.
