Melanie Barrett, not new to town and everyone knows this. Everyone has seen her walk down the halls of the school and everyone has seen her hang around the Duskers. Now what if her friends have a deep secret and she becomes a part of it?

Ethan and Benny were stood by their lockers, talking about who they thought Ethan and Jane's babysitter would be. "Woah, major babe alert." Benny says as he slaps Ethan's chest. They watch as Melanie Barrett walks down the hall, the red skirt flowing behind her as she laughed with her friends.
Ethan and Benny sigh as they watch her walk away. "Man she is way out of our league." Benny says as he straightens up. "Yeah." Ethan says as he shuts his locker. They then walk away, going to their class.
Melanie was sat in her seat close to the blonde haired boy known as Rory. She grabbed her bag and started searching through it. "Oh come on." She says as she searches for her pen. Rory notices and grabs his extra one, placing it on her table. She looks up from her bag and notices the pen on there. She sees Rory placing his bag on the floor causing her to smile. "Thanks." She says as she clicks the pen open and starts writing down her notes.
Eventually lunch rolled around, Melanie walked inside the cafeteria. "Mel!" Stephanie exclaims, but Melanie continues walking towards her table. She sits down in front of Erica and pulls her notebook out and continues writing. "What do you write in there?" Erica questions as she goes to grab it, but Melanie playfully slaps her hand. "No touchy." She says as she laughs causing Erica to smile too.
"Ah! Dork!" Sarah exclaims, Erica didn't pay attention to it but Melanie turned and looked. She noticed Sarah on the ground and a large stain on her shirt. Melanie grabbed her spare t-shirt from her bag and held it close. Sarah then stood up and rushed out of there. "Come on." Melanie says as she grabs her bag and the t-shirt then rushes out of there.
"Sarah." Melanie says as they rush over to her. "Wait up! Where have you been? I've been texting you all morning. Oh! What happened to your shirt?" Erica questions. "Ugh. Don't ask." Sarah says as I pass her my T-shirt. "Thanks Mel." Sarah says sending me a smile. "Okay, guess what? I already have 200 tickets sold for the screening." Erica says. "Only seven more days." Melanie says as she grasps her bag. "I seriously think if I had to wait eight more days instead of seven more days, I would go crazy." Erica says causing the other two girls to nod.
"Yeah me too." Sarah says. "You skipped math today. Were you with Jesse?" Erica questions causing Melanie to wiggle her eyebrows. "Yes." Sarah says as she nudges Melanie. "If I had a cute boyfriend, I'd totally skip class too." Erica says causing Melanie to nod. Sarah sends both girls a look. "What? I would!" Melanie says. "Do you think you're the only one who's allowed to break the rules?" Melanie questions as she raises a brow. "No, but you're a good girl." Sarah says causing Melanie's jaw to drop.
"So are you." Melanie grumbles. "No way. You get straight A's, always nice to everyone. Trust me, you are." Sarah says causing Melanie to nudge Sarah. "Anyways I saved you two seats, and I saved you a seat too Mel. Jesse's coming right?" Erica questions. "No, he's not a real Dusk fan." Sarah says. "What? How can you date someone who doesn't like Dusk? The second book changed my life." Erica says. "Yeah, I know." Sarah says. The bell then rings causing Melanie to sigh. "See you guys." She says as she walks away.
