"Is this truth too potent for me to hold? If I keep it close, will I tumble? At times, I don't know," —Sonali Deraniyagala

Nikolai sat in class. He couldn't focus on the material in front of him. The events from the morning kept playing over and over in his head.
"So what happens now?" asked the boy as he handed his best friend his white shirt filled with blood.
The light brunette sighed, "Honestly, I have no idea since it's my first time covering up a murder," he chuckled at his best friend's glare in his direction, "but I'll get rid of the shirt while you take a shower. Try to remember what happened last night- you couldn't have just.. forgotten."
Nikolai gulped and nodded. He thanked his friend before turning on the water to the shower.
During his time in the water, he kept trying to remember what the hell went on last night. The thing is, he didn't feel guilty.. no, he felt angry.
But.. who was he angry at?
His train of thoughts was interrupted by the teacher slamming a textbook on her desk. Everybody looked up at her, and she looked around with a look of sympathy in her face.
"Some of you may have noticed that our beloved Miss Coraline DeVille has not been at school.. well I have just been informed that she has been declared missing by her parents. If any of you see her or even hear from her, please notify me, the principal, the police station, or her parents."
Nikolai's face dropped immediately. Could it be.. he was mad at.. Coraline?
