"Beneath every story, there is another story. There is a hand within the hand... There is a blow behind the blow," —Naomi Alderman

"Do you think it worked?" Raphael asked for the tenth time that hour.
The two boys, Rafe and Nikolai, were sitting at a table in the cafeteria. It was their lunch hour, and the light brunette was anxiously looking around for Oliver to see if their plan worked.
Nikolai, however, was too exhausted to care.
His head was laying on the table, hiding away from everyone and everything. He's so fucking tired of all this shit. He's tired of constantly being shoved around in the hallways. He's tired of not being able to sleep in his own bed because he's too afraid of his father. He's tired of having to come to school every day while mourning a death of which he's blamed for. Hell, today someone vandalized his locker, words like 'murderer' and 'freak' written in sharpie.
So can anyone really blame him for not wanting to do anything anymore?
Raphael's eyes softened, gently grabbing his best friend's hand, "Cole.." no response, "Oh g- Cole-"
Once he heard his friend gasp, the blue eyed boy was hesitant to look up. Rafe nodded at the entrance of the cafeteria, where Detective Wilson, along with two other officers, headed towards Oliver Bailey's direction.
The man didn't even stop to look around. No, he just went straight to the red head. Once Oliver saw the cops stopping in front of him, he stood up, "Woah woah woah- what's going on here?"
Detective Wilson chuckled, nodding at one of the officers. The officer came up to Oliver, grabbing both his arms, and cuffed him. The red headed boy's eyes widened, "W-What?!"
Wilson simply held out his badge, "You, Oliver Bailey, are under arrest for taking a part in the murder of Coraline DeVille. Anything you say and do will be used against you in the court of law."
At those words, Nikolai quickly stood up. He felt his heart beat to his chest as he made his way over to the group. Adrenaline soon rushed through his veins just thinking about the things he's going to do to that son of a bitch.
Shit is about to go down.
Rafe, being the responsible friend he is, quickly followed after the boy. He caught up to Nikolai just in time as Cole's fist was in the air with only one target- Oliver.
The light brunette quickly, yet gently, grabbed his hand, "Cole, you need to calm down.."
Nikolai just shoved his hand from the other boy's grip, "Calm down?! Calm down?! Did you not just listen to a thing that was said?! He killed her! He fucking killed her!" tears started to pour out of his sad, tired eyes.
His whole body was shaking from anger, sadness, exhaustion, and who knows what else. He can't take it anymore- he can't hold back, "He blamed me for it! Everyone believed him, but the love of my life is dead! Dead! Because of him! HE KILLED HER!"
The whole cafeteria rose silent, listening to the cries coming from the exhausted boy. Hell, not like they cared, though. They never have or ever will. They just want something to talk about.
No one could let out a word. Not Wilson, not the officers, hell- not even Raphael, though his eyes did show how heartbroken he was to see Nikolai like that.
Still, he kept holding him back from hitting who Nikolai thought was the murderer of Coraline DeVille.
Yet Oliver fucking Bailey still had the balls to face both boys, anger in his eyes, "I know you had something to do with this! I don't know how, but I'll find out soon enough, you son of a bitch!"
