Nikolai Romano laid on his best friend's bed, trying so hard to close his eyes and fall asleep. But he just can't.

Too many thoughts and memories in his head to even want sleep.

The boy already tried everything: counting sheep, getting in comfortable positions, reading the posters on Raphael's walls, getting up to get a glass of water, hell- he was even thinking of meditating. But he always found himself fidgeting with his goddamn ring.

Well, technically Coraline's ring.

Nikolai Romano and Coraline Deville laid peacefully on the girl's bed, her lavender sheets over their bare naked bodies. The girl had herself snuggled into the boy, both trying to hide their love stricken smiles from the other.

They felt so safe. They felt... at home.

Cora played with the surprisingly soft hand of the boy, her eyes admiring the silver ring that laid on his finger. Curiosity got the best of her as she looked up at him, her chocolate orbs meeting his ocean globes, "Where did you get this ring?"

Nikolai instinctively pulled his hand away. He gulped when he saw the look of regret on the girl's face, "Sorry.. it was my mom's. It's the last I have of her."

Cora's face softened, each of her facial features relaxing as she pulled him into a sweet and gentle kiss. Niko couldn't help but melt into the kiss, his cheeks going a soft pink as he places his hands on her waist to pull her closer. The girl giggled, which caused him to smile at the music she created with her mouth.

They pulled away, resting their foreheads softly as they calmed their breathing. The two teenagers stared into each other's eyes, love visible in them but they're too naive to admit it.

It was times like these that made them forget the world and only focus on how loved they felt. Fuck the world and the people in it, they don't matter. What matters is that they're right here, holding each other for a few more moments in the peace and quiet. That's all they need. No faking that they hate each other or that they're someone else. They're just.. free.

Nikolai chuckled a bit, causing the girl he adores oh so much to raise an eyebrow, "What? What is it?"

He shook his head, burying his face onto her neck. He murmured into her skin, causing her to shiver, "I just.. I find it funny.. how we always come back to each other.. no matter how big of a fight we had."

Coraline tilted her head, thinking for a few seconds before speaking up, "Maybe.. we should promise that we'll always go back to each other, no matter what." and she takes off her ring before handing it to him.

Nikolai pulled away from her, examining her ring, "Is this your way of giving me a promise ring? Cause if so, it's-"

"Niko!"

"Adorable! I was going to say adorable!"

Coraline rolled her eyes. She cuddled into him, an angry pout on her face, "No- it's just my way of saying that i trust you'll take good care of my ring, and that you and i won't leave each other, okay?"

Nikolai's face softened. God, he couldn't even describe the feeling he was experiencing at the moment. But he knew one thing for sure. He fucking loves that girl. No matter how hard he tries to refuse it, he knows. And he can't lie to himself about it.

He let out a shaky breath before slowly taking his mother's ring off his finger and delicately placing it on her hand. The girl gasped. "Beau- no, it's was your mom's-"

"Keep it, I want you to have it. I know you'll take good care of it," he smiled and placed a strand of her brown locks behind her ear, "It's also my way of saying i'm not going to leave you, so you aren't allowed to leave me now. It's against the rules."

"You're such a dork-" Coraline whispered before kissing him yet again.

God, she was also head over heels for him. She knew she was, but she was too goddamn scared to say it. At least out loud.

She would be caught dead before saying she loves the guy who she is supposed to hate.

But as they put each other the other's rings, they both knew it was their silent way of saying I love you.

Too shy to speak, they kissed once more, this time a bit more heated. They started to lay back down, Nikolai on top of her. His bare body fitting naturally between her knees as he kissed her neck, Coraline's fingers entangled in his locks.

The boy smirked, leaving small bruises in each spot he kissed. The girl arched her back a bit, already heated with the little actions he has done to her. Her sounds were like a symphony to his ears, each moan getting him to grow bigger and harder.

"Niko.. mhm.. Nikolai.."

"Niko!"

The boy jumped awake, frantically looking around. His eyes met Raphael's, who seem to be wearing all black.

Rafe grinned at him before handing his friend a flashlight, "Wake up, buddy. It's game time."
