Chapter 16- Max
Fang POV
I ran towards Angel and yanked her back. Hard. I hit the wolf on the head. It howled out in pain. Angel cried out.
"You don't understand!" Angel sobbed.
Tears were streaming down her face. She yanked her arm out of my grasp and ran towards the wolf I hit. It was lying on the ground. Lb had a wound on its head from my hit. It was bleeding a lot. Angel ripped off a piece of her shirt and dabbed the wound. She knelt beside the wolf. Her tears were free falling from her face. Obviously I don't understand. Nudge ran to Angel's side and stroked the wolf's fur.
Gazzy, Iggy, and I were standing awkwardly on the side watching. Nudge started to cry too.
"No, no, no. Oh no..." Nudge muttered.
The wolf stirred and the wound stopped bleeding. Angel and Nudge stood up and backed up. Lb got to its feet. I pulled Angel and Nudge back. The wolf acted quickly and jumped behind Angel and Nudge. Blocking my way to them. They petted the wolf and the wolf liked their hands.
"Show 'em." Angel said.
wolf seemed to sigh and walked into the woods.
We were about to leave.
"Wait!" Nudge and Angel said in unison.
We waited like Nudge and Angel had insisted. Out came,mwhere the wolf entered, Max. I almost fainted. Max was, a wolf. Nudge and Angel ran to Max and hugged her. She smiled and touched her head.
"Sorry about that." I mumbled.
Gazzy grinned and Iggy laughed.
"Wanna see something cool?" Max asked.
Gazzy nodded. Max stepped back and morphed into an Eraser. Random instincts took over. I pulled the flock back and kicked the Eraser in the stomach. Max let out an 'oof'. Angel screamed. I forgot that the Eraser was Max and I kicked Max in the leg when she was regaining her breathe. I heard a sickening crunch.
Iggy jumped on my back and pulled me down. He slapped me on the face.
"You're girlfriend is back and this is how you treat her?!"
He directed my face at Max and I saw her in human form with Gazzy, Angel, and Nudge. Nudge was fixing Max's bone. Her shin was broken. She pushed the bones back into place.
"I-I didn't know you hated me THAT much." Max sputtered. She had tears on her face.
"I'm sorry Max-" I said
"I understand. You no longer want a freak in the flock. Or a monster, mutant, Eraser girl." Max sadly said.
"That's not true!" I said.
"But, it is." Max said.
"I'm sorry. Not just for that. For everything I did wrong." I muttered.
Max sighed and walked off into the forest.
