Chapter 6- The Capture

Max POV

I strolled out of the house and into the forest. Anger clouded my vision making me even more enraged. About fifty feet away from the house, there was a clearing. I walked to that clearing and sat down. I was too angry at Fang to notice the danger around me. I calmed down and figured out I was in a trap. I stood up quickly but I was too late.

A net dropped down and I was trapped in a net. I struggled to get out, but the more I struggled, the tighter the net became.

'Angel?' I frantically thought.

'Angel!?'

'ANGEL!'

'Oh sorry Max.'

'Angel I'm captured in a net in the clearing. Bring the flock... I'm kind of stuck'

'Oh My Gosh Max!' 

 

And with that I felt her leave my mind. I heard flaps and smiled. The flock. I yelled 'Hey', but I felt a heavy hand slap over my mouth.

I slowly turned to see that I was surrounded by-by, E-e-rasers.

"We know what your thinking Maximum Ride. Surprised? See we were brought back into the system because the other experiments weren't as good as us." the Eraser in front of me said.

The Eraser that was covering my mouth let me go. I screamed. The lead Eraser kicked me in the stomach. I wanted to vomit. My flock was over head. In danger of the Erasers. There were about fifty. We couldn't take them.

"What do you want?" I snarled.

"Hmm... Well I'm Dart. Back to the subject. Max, we want you. And only you."

I processed this. The flock. I could make a deal. I go with them and Itex and the School leave my flock alone.... If I went, they would be safe. 

"I'll make you a deal," I said.

"NO MAX!" screamed Angel.

Dart looked up and then looked amused. Wow, these new Erasers are more like whitecoats, but could still sink their claws into your skin.

Angel frantically flew in circles over head. I couldn't believe that I hate Fang but I'm still risking my life for him. No not for him, the flock.

"I go with you, and Itex, and the school leave the flock alone." I finally said.

"How about, you be a good experiment, endure everything without a sound, and we will never bother your flock again." Dart said.

"DON'T DO IT MAX!!" Angel sobbed.

"Deal." I made the deal...

"Can they come down so I could say good bye to them?"

"Sure, do your mushy gushy stuff." Dart snarled.

The Erasers made a big circle and watched the flock land. I whispered to them.

"Angel my baby, I'm so sorry. I have to protect the flock."

I looked at my flock. Nudge, Angel, and Gazzy were all crying. Iggy was staying strong. I didn't care about what Fang is like right now.

"Do not come looking for me. If you do, what I have done would be worthless."

"If you you do-don't come back in a period o-of five y-years, well, we'll come looking for you." Angel stuttered.

"Yeah, I'm with my sister." Gazzy said.

I sighed.

"Okay."

"Iggy, you be good, make bombs but don't use them unless an emergency.... Which won't happen..."

"Gazzy, you keep on making bombs and mimicking others..."

I glared at Fang and changed my tone of voice.

"You. You are in charge and you better not make any stupid mistakes." I said angrily.

I wasn't only talking about the flock. He knew what I meant.

"Nudge, you keep chatting away."

Nudge ran up to me and hugged me. The whole flock made a group hug, minus Fang. Yeah I know, kind of harsh. But I'm about to die so... We broke apart and I put my fist in the middle. Nudge's fist stacked on top. Then Gazzy, then Angel, then Iggy, then finally Fang's fist stacked. We all tapped each others fist.

"Okay, goodbye time is over." Dart said.

I nodded and hugged my flock one more time. My eyes were beginning to water. A tear dropped but I quickly wiped it away. I gave my flock a sad smiled then turned to Dart. My flock jumped into the air and hovered. Watching me go. All of the Erasers surrounded me. I couldn't go anywhere...

Dart made an Eraser wrap a sting of twine around me so I couldn't fly away. I sighed. They didn't get it. I was going nowhere...
