"No way, you're dreaming, how did one even get in?"
"Margaret, I swear on my life, better yet on Di's life," she said pointing to Diana.
"What why me?" Diana said, "I don't believe you, I don't want to die."
"How can you not believe me?"
"Saoirse, you're telling me you saw a stag running down the fourth floor corridor this afternoon. You can understand how absurd that sounds" Diana said resolved.
Saorise pointed above her as Nearly Headless Nick floated by. "So that is perfectly acceptable but a stag running through Hogwarts is a bit of stretch?"
Margaret shrugged, "seems about right."
Saorise buried her face in her hands, "I feel like I'm going crazy."
"If it helps," Diana said with a laugh, "that makes two of us," and took another bite of her dinner.
Saoirse rolled her eyes but laughed, "somehow I'll prove it to you guys."
"Prove what?"
Diana felt someone sit next to her on the bench. She turned to see James Potter looking inquisitively at their group.
"Saorise said she saw a stag running through the fourth floor corridor," said Diana.
James' eyebrows flew up, "a stag?" He said in a forced laugh.
"See he doesn't believe me either," groaned Saorise.
"No, no," James said quickly. "I saw him, erm, it too."
"Really!" Saorise exclaimed, turning to Di and Margaret, "I told you."
Margaret and Diana laughed, "I stand corrected I guess," said Margeret.
James turned to Diana, "I heard you're helping out Ginerva tonight right?"
"Um, yes."
"Good, we need more girls on the team. I think she'd make a good seeker. She's quite small, that'd be useful. Can you focus on that?"
Diana nodded.
James reached into a pocket on his robe and pulled out a ring of a few keys. He handed them to Diana, "these are the keys to the quidditch locker, you can find the snitch in there and extra brooms if she doesn't have one."
"Thanks," Diana said.
James nodded and noticed someone at the great hall doors, his face broke into a smile. He said a quick goodbye and headed over to Lily Evans who had just come into the hall. All Di could see was Jame's saying "hiya Lily," and Lily's cheeks turning just a little bit pinker.
Diana excused herself to find Ginerva and head out to the pitch.
She found Ginerva at the head of the table chatting with a few of her friends from the lower year. The two girls quickly left to the dormitories to change into athletic gear and head over to the quidditch pitch.
Once they were on the field and on their brooms Diana would toss around the quaffle, testing Ginerva's speed and agility to catch it. After 30 minutes of that. They spent another hour chasing the snitch, racing to see who could catch it first. Luckily, Ginerva almost always won which was good considering Diana was a good seeker and had played as a seeker on multiple occasions on their non-competitive teams during the summer.
Sweaty and tired both of them headed back into the castle after dropping off their brooms in the quidditch cupboard. It was eight o'clock and they still had an hour before curfew, which meant they had to be back in their tower, Ginerva decided to go to the library to get some books for their upcoming potions project. Too exhausted to do anything else but take a shower and flop onto a couch Diana headed back to the Gryffindor tower but took a quick detour to the seventh floor north corridor.
