"Sir, Mr Cheston Sy is here to see you."

"Send him in."

This boy has not disappointed me since yesterday. I talked to him and Lee yesterday and he's here. Nice. Now, let's see what he has to say. 

"Early in the morning, Mr. Sy."

"I actually did not expect you to be in your office this early sir. And I still believe in the old adage, Early bird catches the worm."

"So, what is the pleasure of your very early visit?"

"Sir, we both know why I am here. and also we also both know that you have been expecting me. If not yesterday, then now."

"Good. So let us hear what you are here to say."

"Sir, I have a problem. I came here probably to be a client or something."

"Ano problema?"

And he told me his situation. He told me about his plans and why it is so taking so long kasi yung nanay niya iniipit ang ibang dokumento. He told me that his uncles are helping him re acquire some of the assets that have been lost because of the merger that his mother entered into. Without the knowledge of his father. And now that his father is invalid and incapacitated, the decision has been in his mother's hands. I asked him who is the new president. And he said him. I told him that that is his answer. He can use his position to veto any agreement between the Tans and the Sys. 

He also told me that he has prepared all the documents that would transfer half of his assets to Lee in pretence that I will be buying it and placing it under Lee's name. I was of course surprised to learn about it. He said that it would be 195 Million pesos. wanted to give more but he said it has to be realistic.  All I have to do is sign those papers and documents. He gave me folders of documents.

"Since. this is a law office, I am sure you have lawyers here who could testify, witness or notarize everything in those folders, sir."

"Are you sure?"

"In this way sir, I would be able to save some of the money that my father built and I am sure in this way, you would know that I am serious in my intentions towards your daughter. I am also doing this to secure our future, and our children's in case she will accept me as her husband and the father of her children."

"Who knows about this?"

"No one, sir. Kayo lang. My uncles thought that I selling my assets to regain the business. They said that they believe in me. And I am coming to you now to put in your hands my life, my family's life and my future with your daughter, sir."

"What will happen to Cuindy?"

"She will get over it sir. Nakita niyo nman, puro lang display. If she wanted me, hindi ako aawayin. Hindi ako mamatain. Hindi ako lalaitin. She will wait for me to notice her. Pero hindi. She is not the type of woman that I want top mother my children. She is just like my mother. Nothing is more important than money."

"Do you think Lee would agree to this?"

"She should not know now, Sir."

"We have to tell her. "

"I will tell her, Sir. But please, help me. I badly need your help, as a lawyer, as a businessman, as a.... I miss my dad sir. I need him right now. Pero I can not even talk to him now. My Mom won';t allow me to be in my Dad's room. i am the only child and I do not trust anyone in the office. Isa lang ang gumagawa ng mga papeles ko. yung lawyer na kaibigan ko.  i am coming to you now because my friend is just starting with lawyering and I can not possibly let him in this bigger problem now. Alam lang niya na binebentahan ako ng mga lupain na sa pangalan ni Lee lahat. hanggang dun lang."

"Ano sabi niya? He's willing daw to do everything for me. Pero ayoko naman idawit siya sa problema ko."

"Is he practicing?"

"Public Attorney's, Sir."

"Is he good?'

"yes. tell him to come see me."

"Sir?"

"tell him to come see me kung gusto niya ng trabaho. I can hire him or help him with that."

"Will tell him , sir."

"Now with your problem, ganito ang gagawin natin...."

And I talked to this young man who is barely out of his teen with a problem bigger than the country. My respect for him tripled the moment he sat on that chair and told me his plans. I do not even expect that if I was in his shoes would gamble that much to save his family's finances and the woman that he loves.
