I don't know much about cultivation, qi and stuffs. My knowledge about them and Dao Mu Biji's world is just the tiny tip of the iceberg. So, whatever happens in this story is purely my imagination with bits of original information redeveloped here and there. Please don't take it seriously. I just love Ultimate Note and Word of Honor so much. I can't get over these two dramas. Also, the actors! I love them so much. Their portrayals are top notch. Hope you can support them as well.

Wu Xie was rolling off and falling down the cliff. He couldn't do much with snow blindness already nabbed his ability to see. His hands frantically tried to reach anything nearby, merely hoping he would be able to stop or slow the falling, yet, in vain. Everything seemed to happen in slow motion. Suddenly, his rolling body stopped in an abrupt motion. He felt like his body was hanging midair. Even though he knew not to use his eyes, he forced his luck there to recognize the situation he was in at the moment. It turned out someone grabbed his right arm since he could feel the warmth seeping in the tight grip and prevented him from colliding with the snow pile seven meters below him.

He averted his eyes and looked up. From his blurry vision, he could guess who his savior was. No one was strong and fast enough to save him from any predicament except HIM.

"Why are you back?" That was not supposed to be the first question coming from someone who was just saved from a near-death experience, but he still asked after all.

"I heard your cry for help."

That's it?! Is a mere cry for help enough to make you come back from your whatever attempt to die?! Wu Xie really wanted to scold him, but got cut off when the man talked again.

"Don't move. I'll pull you up."

Hearing those words from Xiao ge was very reassuring since he knew it was always safe with him here. Nothing bad would happen. Even if it happened, Xiao ge would always be able to find the way out to safety. However, something didn't feel right. Somehow, Wu Xie could feel the tremor coming from the hand that was grabbing him. It was weird. It should not be a problem for Xiao ge to lift him up. He even could lift some people at once with his monstrous power without breaking any sweat. Yet, here, he seemed to be struggling a lot just by lifting him who weighed more or less the same as Xiao ge.

One conclusion he could make based on the situation was that Xiao ge got injured somewhere.

"Xiao ge...?"

No reply—a normal response coming from the poker face. So, he decided to try to inspect it as much as he could with his very limited movement since he was still hanging midair. He lifted the other hand and grabbed Xiao ge's wrist. He heard a low hissed and the man's grip on him almost loosened immediately. Thanks to Xiao ge's fast reflex, the grip was fastened again.

"Xiao ge... you're hurt!"

"I'm fine. I had this injury before I came here."

"But—!" Even though he felt relieved that he was not the cause of Xiao ge's injury, he was still at fault for making it worse now.

"No need to worry."

When Xiao ge almost succeeded in helping Wu Xie find his foot again, another round of snow slope slid down at a frightening speed behind him ready to swallow them whole—an avalanche. The disaster was too big not to be noticed even by the poor sight of Wu Xie.

"Xiao ge, watch out!!!"

The shout automatically made the said man to look back and immediately understood what was going to happen to them if the avalanche hit them. They didn't have time to dodge the tragedy, so Xiao ge pulled Wu Xie close and protected the younger with his body. Their bodies were soon washed away along with the snow. Buried under it was no doubt cold and suffocating.
