Karan Nigam

He emerged out of the saline, gentle water. The moonlight surfed over the waves lining them with a silver glow. His joggers were now heavier than before. Soaked in water. His hair lay flat over the low fade on the side of his head, except for a few that spiked up. Droplets trickled down his bare chest, splitting and joining on his toned abs, as water trailed down his biceps from his shoulder, tingling his fingers before they fell back into the ocean.

A moment later, with a splash, emerged a girl, swaying her hairs in a circle as she looked up, spraying water around. Her face glowed under the moonlight, as she raised her hands to her head, pushing back her locks. He walked up to the girl in a black, floral printed tube top and matching flared skirt that reached just beyond the mid of her thighs.

He wrapped her arms around the perfect curves of her waist, and raised her up, turning in a semi-circle as she splashed water across in the cool breeze that wafted in. He could feel the sand below him deepen under his pressure and water running in to fill the spaces.

"Only you and me," he whispered in her ear.

"I like it this way," she breathed back.

Mixed emotions ran through her heart. She was disappointed, for Karan had spent another day without disappointing her for a single second. But she was even more glad that they had the night to themselves. Though the moon was just a silver line, the night at the sea was not in the least different. Not at all regrettable!

She turned around to face the young man nearing his mid-twenties— only a few years older than her. She ran her hand through her hair, flattening them behind her head as she stepped closer to her boyfriend. He ran his left hand over her right arm, top to bottom, as he took her left palm in his right one, raising their hands to turn her around. He pulled her back, close to him. Her back was across his chest as he closed his arms across his waist, placing his chin on her shoulder. A sensuous shudder ran up her spine.

She bent her body forward, messing with her love, twisting her head to have a look at his reaction. The man was laughing, not at all displeased. He pulled her back, curving one arm across her back and another at the back of her knees. The next moment she felt weightless— flying as he picked her up in his arms. She looked up to him, locking her eyes onto his as he held her more tightly, walking out of the water and towards their camp.

Why? She thought. But she knew the answer already. There was work at camp. They could only ever take breaks, not vacations.

There was a fifty meters expanse of sand between them and the camp. Five speedboats were laid where the sea, sand, and air met one another. The camp was large. A four-floor building with eight rooms on each floor, a large field with multiple training equipment. The land itself was divided in two, with large rocks between. The land near the sea was about two feet below the upper land. She was having an amazing ride in the arms of her beau. And she did not intend to set her feet down until they were in the room.
