Ian Skyes

He turned down the volume of the radio, allowing the sound of tires rolling and air swishing snake up to his ears as he sped down the bridge to the European Isthmus, known as The Brow.

He had to get formal. And quickly now. The rendezvous had to be short. No formalities... No errors. No mistakes. And keeping on listening to the Cry for the Bad Man would not allow him to keep mess at the bay. Though he knew that the plan was perfect, he could never hope. It was unprofessional.

But there wasn't any need for hoping. It would all be in accordance with the plan. Three here. Three there. Three minutes and all the details of the Mexican underlord, who was spreading terror across the European Union, would be an open secret. A book that he was taught to read.

He gently pressed onto the brake as headlights met headlights and the road lit up as if the darkness had crept back leaving no trace on the smooth concrete.

He stretched his arm towards the glove box and opened it to reveal a small bunch of neat but dumped papers. He rummaged in the mess until his fingers slid over cold metal. Wasting no time, he gripped his HK VP9sk and pulled it in sight. Inserting a new magazine, he weighed his deadly assistant, smiling. He unlocked the safety and loaded the pistol, tucking it in the secret holster hidden under the hem of his black sports coat. Just in case!

He gently pushed the door close and pocketed his sunglasses, turning to approach his informant, who by then had come out of his automobile. Alone, surprisingly.

He had waited for this moment long enough to have it taste better. But he was under constant fear of discovery and death for the past some time. Betraying Conrad Orlov required payment by life, but that was if caught. So he had taken all risks calculatedly and ensured all measures were in place so that his little breach would not be caught before the deal was done. He was not liking the fact that the hitman he had hired had backed off without even asking for a refund. He had seemed hasty and desperate to not come. But for that, he couldn't delay the deal. He wanted to escape this. As soon as possible! He thought, reassuring that he had not made a mistake.

Even while meeting their informing man, he had ensured he had nothing that could be used to identify him or associate him with the Order. He had cosmetically masked his tattoos and restyled his appearance, wearing clothes that he never had. All that had also given him confidence and assurance of going forward with today's deal, and he was doing just that. The only other thing that bothered him was that his informant though had told him that he would severe all lines of contact, the informant had cut them off a little very soon. In fact, just ten minutes after he had sent the final message, he was out. But this was not the time to ponder over the past, because it was always the present that would forever last.

So he walked out, towards the agent he said would meet him, and by what he knew, his name was Keynes, though he knew he could bet on it being a false name. But this was the best way he had. And he had learned to prefer the best ways rather than the only ways. He had enough experience to not reach the only-way part.
