The Night of the Soul

CHAPTER 5

"Maya you go and try to find Mr. Luther, and I'll try to find something in the house. There should be some clue or something." Ari instructed Maya and handed her a flashlight, a hammer, and a pepper spray just in case. 

"Ari I think this is very dangerous, we should inform the police." Ari spoke in urgency, "I'll call the police, you first go find him and stay safe. Inform me if something happens."

 Maya left from the back door and found some tracks made by car tires and decided to follow them, "Please be safe Mr. Luther."

While then Ari started looking around the house, she wore gloves as a caution (she surely was prepared for everything), "There should be something about his son in the house...Oh! The bedroom."

The tracks led Maya to a dungeon where she saw a parked Porsche, "He must be here." As she took a step forward, the door of the dungeon opened and some middle-aged men came out, Maya hid in the bushes and saw that the men sat in the car and drove away. As soon as they left Maya entered the dungeon and found something terrible, a blood scene but there was nobody, and she searched the area but didn't find anything except a phone.

"The cathedrals were close to Mr. Luther's son. Wait a minute, theirs a letter here, 'To Mr. Harry'." Suddenly her phone rang and it was as expected Maya. "Hello, did you find anything?" Maya on the other hand spoke with a trembling voice, "Something has happened to Mr. Luther, Ari."

 Ari froze and nervously asked, "What happened?" 

"I followed the tracks on the road which led me to a dungeon and saw some men coming out..." Ari suddenly heard the door open, "Listen, I'll meet you directly at home okay? Tell me everything then." 

She hung up on Maya and heard some voices, "You all know what to do right? I want it to like a suicide okay? Make a nice setup." 'SUICIDE?' Ari heard the person from the other side of the door and decided to hide in the closet for the time being.

 Suddenly some men entered the room and started keeping stuff in the room and left. After some time Ari carefully came out of the closet and looked around to see if anyone is there, she suddenly went through the stuff and found some pills and a suicide note which was written in name of Mr. Luther. 

"Someone killed him and then left a suicide note....Oh no!" Ari at first thought of calling the police then a thought passed her mind that if she called the police then she has to answer any questions and might become suspicious, on top of that she won't even know who did this, she and Maya's lives could be in danger.

 She opened some drawers for some clues and found a diary, "This could have something but it's not the right time or place to read it." 

She left the place and inform the police about an incident that occurred in the house as an anonymous.

Maya was waiting for Ari for about an hour outside the house. She saw from a far distance a figure running towards her and that was none other than Ari. 

"Damn it, what took you so long? I was getting worried!" Ari was panting heavily but the next thing she said made Maya's heart drop a beat, "Mr. Luther is killed."
