. . .
Coach told us to get ready and then we put on our gear and put blue and red practice jerseys on. He told us to all step in the center of the rink and he tied a rope all around us. Unfortunately or fortunately, however you want to put it I was stuck next to Mendoza. Well I wouldn't say stuck, more like put next to him. I was also next to Julie and Jesse, which didn't seem that bad.
I don't know if I was, but it felt like I was blushing so much my face was red as the jersey Luis was wearing. We both kept looking at each other once in a while and then the team started to complain when Coach was done tying the rope.
"This is as crowed as a truck load of goats." Robertson said.
"Somebody better watch their hands." Julie says.
"Yeah Averman." I say looking back at me.
"That was an accident." He says in defense.
"Ach, someone licked me." Averman says
"Karma." I say and laugh.
"Awe, I smell something."
Then, in unison, we all look and say.
"Goldberg!"
"It wasn't me."
Then Portman puts his hands up in the air and yells out.
"No! It was me!"
Coach blew his whistle to quiet us down from complaining about the string. Also smell because we were grossed out by that.
"I don't want to make this any clearer. You are a team, and to win this thing you have to work as one. Now as one, skate!"
Then we all try to skate in different directions which made us fall. Of course, the universe made me get smooshed.
"Everyone goes their own way, everyone falls down. Now get up and try it again"
We all got up and try to skate again. Then Portman decided to say something.
"Everyone move to your right, now!"
"Who made you boss?! Everyone to the left" Fulton said.
Now the team was confused and we fell, again. That wasn't surprising, but the funny thing is that I fell right new to Luis. What are the odds, I know right.
"You guys can argue all you want, but I'm not untying you till you move as one." Coach says that as he is LITERALLY walking away from us.
"Hey are you ok?" Luis asked me after Coach walked away.
"Yeah, are you?"
"Yeah I'm alright, but we should get use to it. Were probably going to fall some more."
Then we laughed and got up. When the whole team got up I decided to say something.
"May I say I don't want to fall anymore. So why don't we choose one direction to go and stick with it."
We all decide to go forward. When we started to skate it felt weird, but we were working together and doing it as a team. Coach was encouraging us the whole time. Then he told us to turn, and we actually did it.
