That One Practice

We practiced regularly and then we all got better and better. One practice I change out of my gear and into leggings and a tee-shirt, then put on my skates. I asked Coach if I could stay late to skate around and he said yes. I was skating around 20 minutes after practice and then thought everyone left, but then I heard a door open and close.

"Hey Hernández!"

I look over to see Luis standing there with his duffle bag and a towel around his neck. I skated over to him and then I sat on a bench that had my bag and shoes next to it, while he stood infront of me. I started to take off my skates and then we started to talk.

"What were you doing after practice?"

"I can ask you the same thing Mendoza."

He laughed and rubbed the back of his neck. I started to put on my normal sneakers on, but I realized it kinda sounded different than I thought it would.

"I'm just kidding. I was getting some extra skating practice in. What about you?"

"I just took a shower."

"It's like 20 minutes after practice?"

"Well I just take my time when I can." He said that which made me laugh.

"Why don't you just shower in the showers next to the dorms in the bathrooms?" I say that and put my skates in my bag.

"There's showers in the dorms!?"

"Yeah it's crazy that there are showers." I say while laughing and grabbing my bag.

He started to laugh and I stood up. We started to talk some more while we were walking to our dorms. I got to know more about him and got to tell him some stuff about me. We both have a lot in common and like the same things. We laugh as we stop in front of our dorm doors. I felt like I was flying, but this has NEVER happened to me before. We were just staring at each other while we were smiling.

"Well see you tomorrow at practice, Luis."

"Yeah see you there. Uh, we should do this more often, Hernández."

"Yeah we should." I says as I enter in my dorm and close the door behind me.

When I got in the dorm I could not stop blushing. I jumped on my bed and left my duffle bag at the door inside of the room. Then after a couple of seconds I realized Connie and Julie were at the door and spying on us. Well I really didn't mind it so I didn't have to explain to them what happened. Then Connie and Julie decided it is time to start teasing me.

"OOoOOoOOo, I think Luis is Andy's new boyfriend. What do you think Connie?" Julie teased me while she looked over to Connie

"Yeah, I think they both have a crush on each other." Connie joined in.

"Guys stop."

"But you never told us how your date went." Connie said.

"It was not a date, we were just hanging out and talking." I said as I stop "Well, but I will still tell you about it."

We laughed and then I told them all about it and they teased me more. In a weird way I kinda liked that they teased me about it. It made it feel a little more real and like this was actually happening. I never ever felt like this before about anyone. It was weird that I felt this way but made me.
