The X

"I thought you invited Daniel?" Tara asked jinny while they were sitting in a long table with all their co-workers and some of Tara's friends in a pub where they used to go. The table was flooded with drinks and appetizers; it was Tara's birthday.

"He invited himself. I don't know maybe he's not really gonna come." Jinny shrugged

Then her phone rang

"Speaking of" Jinny said to Tara showing her phone screen to her.

"Hey" jinny answered the phone

"Jin I don't think I can make it tonight"

"Mmm okay . . . I thought you're not doing anything tonight"

"Yeah but someone called me and asked for my help. Sandra . . . My EX can you believe it."

"The flight attendant ex?"

"Yeah, she was here for some wedding and her car broke down in the middle of nowhere, she's scared to get in the cab service there. And apparently I'm the only one she can call. Its an hour drive."

"I see okay, getting some throwback action tonight huh" she teased

"Shut up" daniel chuckled "Just have fun okay, greet Tara a happy birthday for me" he added

They once talked about Daniels last relationship with that flight attendant whose based in Singapore and how they broke up because they couldn't make it work, the long distance thing, that she wanted him to move there and live with her but daniel didn't want to, cause his life is here and she also doesn't want to leave Singapore or change her company.

"Why are you drinking so much tonight girl?" Tara asked Jinny "is it because Daniel is with her ex right now?" she added

"Shut up ofcourse not, I couldn't care less"

"You know you can say or admit anything to me right. I'm not gonna judge you"

"I'll kill you but it's your birthday tonight, maybe tomorrow"

Tara laughed

Jinny suddenly felt the bar was spinning around when she got out of the toilet. She doesn't know if she can still walk back from their table.

"Oh god" she said as the dizziness becomes intense she just went in the bar at the side and sat in an empty stool to rest.

Daniel found Jinny sitting at the bar area with her head down and a guy standing on her side whose trying to talk to her with his one hand on her back

"Hey get the fuck away from her."

The guy almost jumped and just walked away "Okay chill man"

"Jin." he brushed her hair pushing it behind her ear. "Are you okay?"

Jinny lifted her head from the table and looked at Daniel with her half opened drunk eyes

"God I'm seeing things" she mumbled

He chuckled "You're not. I'm here."

"I need to go home" she said not knowing if she was talking to him or to herself.

She stood up from the stool and fell into him, he held her as she leaned on him and rested her head in his chest.

"Why did you drink so much"
