authors note:
this is an au where kiyoomi never played volleyball, instead he plays the piano because it's one of my favorite hc's :)
and i love playing the piano

His first show was on a rainy Saturday, he hated it when it rained, he felt as if it was a sign of bad luck though it was only his first performance, he thought it should've been sunny, with less clouds and less wind. It made him a bit nervous, feeling a bit younger than the other opponents as he was only ten.

They were all either dressed in suits or dresses, they all looked well, neat and clean as his suit was a bit dusty, it was his older brother's from when he was a kid. He never really cared about hand-me-downs.

He looked around the hallway, carrying his folder in hand. His eye caught on some of the other instruments that were being held by a few, figured there was another competition at the theater as well. Him and his parents walked into the arena, the lights were starting to dim as they sat down. It wasn't his time to play yet so they decided to go a but early to watch the others.

The judges called out for the first performer, the sound of someone's shoes was echoing through the theater. She was wearing a long black dress with long sleeves, almost covering her entire arm. He thought it was an odd choice of clothing to wear.

She had sat down on the small bench, scooting a bit foreword as she placed the music sheet onto the stand as her fingers were placed centered of the piano. Her fingers then almost gently slammed onto the keys as his eyes widened, the music she was making seemed so kind but so harsh, it was so fast yet so slow paced.

Her fingers were moving with the sound she was making, it almost felt refreshing to hear but there was a part where it seemed too 'angry', too emotional. It made him wonder if it was apart of the song or if she was loosing control.

He'd subconsciously stood up, walking towards the railing to get a better look at her. His eyes were stuck onto her, still eye wide.

The song then became suspenseful, to calm back to suspense, ending with a horrific sound. He saw her take a deep breath, finally standing up as she bowed to the judges, she took a look at the crowd, meeting his eye. She then left the stage unspoken, the crowd was a bit shook after hearing her play, it was something truly unforgettable.

He went back to his parents, sitting back down as he looked over his music sheet. "How did you like it? Her playing?"

"I loved it."
