"L/n?! You're back?!"

"Yeah, why are you so surprised Komori? I wasn't going to be gone forever."

"Yeah but you've been gone for so long I thought that cold was going to make you stay in your house forever!"

"Cold—? Oh yeah, I accidentally went outside when it was cold right after I showered." she said as she sat down at her desk. "Have you've been practicing Sakusa?" she asked as he looked at her, nodding. "Good cause I thought your playing would just hurt my ears even more."

He looked at her suspiciously, she seemed well? But the day she had came out of her house she looked so sick— obviously he thought she had a cold but he also thought it was more than that.

"My playing doesn't hurt anyones ears, yours are just to sensitive."

"Too sensitive?! How are you going to tell me about my ears loser?!"

"Here we go.."

The two went back and forth, their classmates almost tired of their everyday antics. "Guys maybe we should calm down before none of you actually win first place okay?" Komori placed both hands on their shoulders.

"Eyebrows, respectfully, I like you but I really want to kick your ass right now."

"None of you guys deserve my kindness.."

———

"No!"

"Loser I swear if you keep messing up on the pace i'll—"

"Y/n, you can't anger yourself..please stop yelling." her dad said as he lowered the book he was holding to look at his daughter. "I forgot..let me live." she mumbled before she sat back down on the bench as she glanced over to Sakusa.

"We'll go slower." he nodded as the two placed their fingers on the keys, she had started a bit earlier than what they agreed on but he kept up. Her father noticed that Sakusa was taking small glances at her as she was doing the same, he sighed leaving the room.

"We have one week left, if you mess up one more time, i'm killing you." she said as she looked dead into his eyes. "Yeah sure kill me like we don't have a duet to play in a week." he rolled his eyes.

"I'm still killing you."

"Of course you are."

"Hey by the way..do you like me as a friend—"

His eyes widened as he saw her body lean over, her eyes started to close as she hit the floor. He didn't know what to do, her father came rushing into the room, picking her up as Sakusa was still shocked.

It was so sudden and out of no where.

He followed her dad outside as he saw him put her in the car before he drove off. He left with no explanation, no details and not even where he was going but Sakusa assumed he must've been going to the hospital.

He was standing out outside her house just speechless.

"What just happened?"

———

The beeping of the heart monitor filled the room, it was evening as the orange hue colored the walls while the window was slightly opened, letting the sound of the birds chirping come in.

Her father was sleeping on the chair next to her as he was holding her hand. The nurses would come in every few hours to check up on her. She was still unconscious.

If Sakusa were to ever see the state she was in he would simply not go into the room. He would only watch her by the small window on the door.

No one else was informed about what happened except Komori, he was a bit shaken up as he went to go see how she was doing, alone. Sakusa told him that he'll go when he felt like it, Komori told him that he was selfish.

Komori saw that she wasn't awake, only staying by her side until the doctors told him to leave. He tried and tried to get his cousin to come but he just wouldn't.

It's been almost three days until she woke up, they found out her body was dying faster than they expected, told her that she needs to stay in the hospital until she gets better. Her only response was,

"But..I have a duet to play."
