Ok so I've been thinking about my name a lot and I've asked some of my online friends (who are, in fact, Asian) if it's okay for me to name myself after an anime character. They all said it was fine and it was just a name, but yesterday I saw a tiktok of an Asian girl saying it was Asian fishing and cultural appropriation. This is right after I started getting attached to the name Eijiro and I love it, it feels right, but I don't want to be harmful to Asian culture. What do you think? I'd love to hear more voices about this. I'd prefer to keep the name but I will absolutely change it if it's not okay.
*EDIT: I do have an Asian ancestry, but it's very small so I don't feel like I can say I'm Asian. I'm also not using Eijiro as in Kirishima. Yes, kirishima is the reason I started looking at the name, but after I did research, it won me over because of the meaning "sharp young man." I'm just trying to educate myself, please don't get mad at me.
