It all doesn't feel real until I see Sarah's car pulling into the driveway through the window from Rachie's room. I quickly close the curtains, turning to face Rachie with wide eyes.

"You sure you're wearing that shirt for this?" she asks with a frown.

I look at my reflection in her mirror across the room, and I've never been so sure. "I am not going to try and be someone else to impress a girl", I answer with a small laugh.

Rachie laughs with me, giving up. The thrifted Batman t-shirt she gave me comfortably feels like me, and I will not lie about it. My shoulders however tense up as I hear a knock on the front door.

Rachie excitedly gives me a quick hug before running down the stairs to let Sarah and the two guys in. I recognize their faces from that party I went to, but I can't remember at all which is Justin and which is Tom. I don't dare to ask who is who, scared I'll hurt them since we already met before. Rachie greets everyone, and Sarah looks up the stairs to smile at me.

Cute.

Everyone goes downstairs, with the exception of Rachie and Sarah. They are standing next to each other, both waiting for me to come down the stairs. Rachie with her long blond hair, cute dress and pink nails, and Sarah with her short dark hair, cute glasses and boyish looks. I sigh, completely confused, before joining them both.

Rachie quickly eclipses herself to get some blankets, and I am left alone with Sarah. It feels like I have forgotten what to do with my hands, and I quickly stuff them in my pockets.

We both stand there in the entryway as I look at the ground, unable to raise my eyes. She giggles, and I finally look up. My eyes meet with hers, and they're so bright I forget what is going on for a moment.

Suddenly, she softly hits me on the arm with a book. "Are you listening to me?"

She laughs adorably, and I use the opportunity to focus on the book she's lending me instead of her autumn-colored eyes. Le passager, by Patrick Sénécal.

"Sorry, I can't seem to focus around cute girls", I answer in a small voice. I quickly regret it, and my eyes widen. I pass a hand through my hair, directing my eyes anywhere but at her face. She hums as a simple answer, an adorable smile on her lips, and I feel the blood rushing to my cheeks.

Luckily, she doesn't push it. She grabs my pinky with hers before leading me downstairs with the rest. Everyone is already comfortable on the couch and beanbags, and only one spot is left for Sarah and I. As soon as we sit down, Rachie throws the last blanket at us with a not so subtle wink directed at me. Sarah grabs the biggest bowl of popcorn for us both, and we bury ourselves under the blanket. It is unusually cold in the basement, and I am a hundred percent sure Rachie turned the air conditioner up on purpose.

"Soo Jamie, Sarah talks an awful lot about you", the tallest guy says. By the way Rachie looks at him, I am assuming he is Justin. I absolutely do not get what she sees in him.

"Does she?" I ask. Suddenly, I forgot I was shy a few minutes ago and feel the need to know more. "What does she say?"

Under the blanket, Sarah grabs my hand and I lose focus for a moment.

The second guy, who by default must be Tom, cracks an evil smile before giving me a list of adjectives Sarah has presumably used to describe me. She shyly buries her head in my neck, her hair tickling me, and refuses to look up until the topic has changed. I can't listen to what Tom is saying, for Sarah is taking all of my attention. She is probably the cutest girl to ever have existed.

Rachie proposes that we watch a horror movie, obviously so that Sarah or I get scared and cuddle, and I wish my friend was sitting close enough for me to hit her arm. I shake my head at the thought; I should be focussing on Sarah, not Rachie.

To erase the guilt, I slowly wrap my arm around Sarah and she makes herself comfortable along my body. I sneak a small sniff at her hair, wondering how it is possible to smell that good, and soon my senses are completely overwhelmed with Sarah to the point where I can only focus on her. I close my eyes for a moment to feel her small hand that is still holding mine, her warmth against me, and her slightly curly hair that is still brushing my neck. The movie could've been just about anything, I wouldn't have noticed what is going on on the screen either way.

When the movie ends, my arm hurts a bit and Rachie has her head on Justin's shoulder. I quickly look away from them, annoyed.

Sh*t
