Chapter 24

Sadara, Sasuke, and I sat at the dinner table together. The twins were asleep in their swings, which were placed next to the table.

"Hey, can I ask you guys something?" Sarada said.

"Sure," I said. "What is it?"

"Uh," she muttered. "Dad, were you always in the village, or did you travel a lot when you were genin?"

Sasuke and I both looked at each other for a moment.

"Uh," Sasuke muttered.

"Sasuke spent some time with Orochimaru," I said.

"But-" Sarada sighed. "Okay."

"Why do you ask?" Sasuke said.

"I was just curious. Boruto mentioned that he didn't see you in many pictures in Naruto's photobook."

"I see," he said.

"So, what did they say?" Boruto asked.

"___ said he spent some time with Orochimaru," Sarada said.

"My parent said the same thing," Mitsuki said.

"My mom wouldn't tell me anything," Boruto said with a sigh.

"Well, we'll keep going back in time. We can take pictures and find out the truth," Mitsuki said.

"Yeah, we'll get this done in no time, ya know," Boruto said.

"Okay, when is this?" Sarada said.

"We're in the sand village," Mitsuki said. "I wonder why."

"____ must be here," Boruto said. "Shinori's jutsu takes us to wherever she is."

"___ did mention she dated the Kazekage, maybe that's why?" Sarada said.

"Oh crap! You're right," Boruto said as he watched you and Gaara walk through the village hand in hand.

"If she's with him, where is Sasuke?"

"Excuse me!" Boruto exclaimed.

"Boruto!" Sarada exclaimed. "We can't talk to them!"

"They're looking this way," Mitsuki said.

"We've gotta go!" Sarada said.

"Huh, this is one of my parent's hideouts," Mitsuki said.

"I guess ____ was telling the truth," Boruto said.

"Let's go check it out," Sarada said.

"I know an easy way to get in," Mitsuki said. "Sasuke is probably training in the back, or in one of the rooms. Follow me."

Once they were inside, Mitsuki led them through a few hallways, until they were at Sasuke's room. Boruto used his camera to look inside the room. Sasuke laid on the bed, looking at a picture. Boruto snapped a picture, then zoomed in on the picture he was holding.

"It's a picture of ___?" Sarada muttered.

"I guess he misses her," Mitsuki said.

"Then why doesn't he just go home?" Boruto said. "That would make the most sense."

"Good question," Sarada said.

"Maybe he has or wants to stay here. We should find out when they get back together again," Mitsuki said.

"Yeah!"

"Is... is this the jail?" Boruto muttered.

"Looks like it," Mitsuki said. They watched as you walked through the doors. You had a noticeable baby bump, but it wasn't too big.

"Let's follow them," Boruto said. "Ready, Sarada?"

"Uh, yeah," she muttered as she walked inside.

"Hey," you said.

"____," Sasuke muttered. "I'm surprised you're here."

"Why?"

Team 7 hid behind a wall and peeked at you.

"I-," Sasuke paused. "You should know why."

You sat on your knees in front of his cell and sighed. Boruto snapped a picture."You know damn well I can't be mad at you."

"I wish I could see you. I want to hold you- but I don't have that right."

"You didn't think that way when you knocked me up," you said with a chuckle.

Sasuke chuckled. "You know things were different."

"Ah yes, you were ready to destroy," you paused. "Everything. Yet we still ya know."

"It was just in the heat of the moment. You deserve better," Sasuke paused. "But."

"I know you'd hate seeing me with someone else," you said.

"Yeah," Sasuke said with a sigh. After a moment of silence, you opened Sasuke's cell.

"What are you doing?" He said.

You closed the cell behind you and kneeled in front of him, then you gently pulled off his blindfold. "You wanted to see me, right?"

Sasuke looked at you and you smiled at him, then you stood up.

"See? He's getting kinda big," you said as you rubbed your stomach.

"He?" Sasuke said.

"It's just a feeling," you said with a shrug. "Wanna feel?"

Sasuke hesitated for a moment before he nodded.

"Hey, kid. Come use that camera of yours and take a picture of us," you said.

Boruto froze.

"C'mon, hurry before we get caught," you said. Sasuke stood up and Boruto walked out from his hiding spot.

"I-I'm sorry!"

"It's fine," you muttered. "Just hurry up. I only have a few minutes alone."

Boruto nodded. Sasuke put his cuffed arms around you and rested his hands on your stomach. Sasuke looked at you lovingly as you smiled at the camera.

"Done," Boruto said.

((See what I did there? Chapter 16 of gone. Their time travel did leave an effect hehe))

"I'll- uh- get this developed," Boruto said as he walked away. Sasuke's grip around you tightened for a moment. "I love you, ____."
