Amelie's Point of View

After Oliver had left, I went up to Claire's room. I had to tell her what I expected of her while she's here. I opened the door and froze about to speak. Claire is sleeping. I sighed and went over and pulled the cover over her, even though it is unlikely she will get cold.

I noticed how pale her skin was. Even though she refused blood, she had to drink it. Starvation is not a pleasant experience and she will forget about her stubbornness and attack the first human she comes across.

I considered force feeding her, but that will just make her want to leave even more and she is not a human anymore. I moved her hair away from her face then stopped. If I didn't touch her or do anything then I wouldn't like her anymore than I already do. I don't love her; no matter what Oliver said.

I went over to the chair by the desk and sat and waited for her to wake up.

Claire's Point of View

I woke up in my dark bedroom but it looked like daylight with my new vision. I sat up and pushed back the covers and saw Amelie sitting in the desk chair.

De ja vu.

"Had a nice sleep?" Amelie asked. I shrugged.

"Why?"

"You haven't had a drink in almost 2 days. You have to drink before you starve."

I rolled my eyes. "I feel fine."

Amelie looked to the bedroom. "Antony." The door opened and the guard dropped a red bag on my bed. "Can you look at it, without your throat burning?"

I glared at her and threw the bag at her, which she caught easily. "I'm not like you! I don't go around drinking blood like it's a fizzy drink."

"You don't have to. Just drink this and you'll be fine for a day. Just don't starve yourself."

"I won't starve myself. I just won't be like most vampires." Even though Amelie had changed she won't make me like her.

"Do you know what happens when a vampire doesn't get blood?" Amelie asked but she carried on before I could say anything. "They slowly lose their humanity. If they made any promises not to harm anyone or to abstain from blood, that would be forgotten. If they are unrestrained, they will go on a rampage and attack any human they see. When they do come back, they are surrounded by the dead." Amelie stood and put the blood pack on my bed. "I don't want that to happen to you." Then she left.

I sighed. When she had said her creepy but possibly true story I couldn't get rid of the image that had formed. I got off the bed and went downstairs to the kitchen. Looking through the cupboard I found a few cups in red (cliche), green, blue and clear. I got the blue one and emptied the bag then without putting it in the microwave (cold, gross I know but I didn't want Amelie to know she had gotten to me; even though she probably already did) I drank the whole glass. I gagged a bit and washed out the glass and put it back in the cupboard.

I turned around and almost bumped into the maid, Valerie. "Sorry!"

"It's okay." I sighed and went upstairs to brush my hair and change my clothes. I had to at least look presentable when living here. Plus, over comes across as judgemental to me.

Once I had gotten a fresh green t-shirt, black jeans and a blue jacket and black trainers and brushing my hair I went to the window. Just as I thought it was total night outside. Even the moon was hidden by the clouds.

I went downstairs and opened the door but someone grabbed my wrist. I spun around.

"Where are you going?" Amelie asked.

"Don't worry it's night time. If your going to say that moonlight burns, save it." I shook her hand off.

"Where are you going?"

I sighed. "To Myrnin's. I thought I should apologize since I'm going to be stuck here with no company." I hoped my lying skills had gotten better since I got bit. Amelie stared at for a long while, which made me just a little uncomfortable then she nodded.

"When you get there be quick. If the sun comes up, stay there or borrow a coat an gloves."

I rolled my eyes. "Yes mom."

"I mean it." She said firmly. I opened the door and stepped outside.

It felt so nice being outside, after being cooped up for days. I breathed in the cool night air, without needing it then walked to Common Grounds.

Arriving at Common Grounds, I opened the door. Well tried to but it was locked. I looked at the time on my phone; 3:34 in the morning. No wonder. I knocked on the door.

"Hello?"

"Looking for me?" I spun around. I swear I would have gotten a heart attack if my heart was still beating.

"Don't do that!" God, even as a vampire I still have vampires sneaking up on me.

"Why would I be in there?" Oliver asked.

I shrugged. "Um... I heard you talking to Amelie yesterday. About controlling me." I said, crossing my arms. "Well, one no-one can control me and what did you say about Amelie's-" Oliver covered my mouth.

"Let's talk in less public surroundings." He said and unlocked the door then walked through to his office. I followed and closed to door behind me.

"What did I say about Amelie's feelings?" Oliver asked. I nodded. "She shows strong affection to you. You must have known."

"Well, uh, yeah you said that she might love me."

"I never said that."

"Okay, well that she more than likes me."

"She does. Of course she denies it, but it's there. She likes you more than a daughter." Oliver said. I thought that over for a second then came to a conclusion.

"How do you know this? Your could be lying for all I know and the. I when I go and confront Amelie I look like a total idiot."

Oliver smirked. "Of course she will deny it. Queens like her don't show emotions. You just have to do something."

"I'm not kissing her." I said. At the look Oliver gave me I added, "Just so you know."

"Hold her hand or something. Just something that won't get you thrown against the wall. You may be a vampire now but I doubt your bones are indestructible." Oliver looked at his watch. "Sun's coming up soon. You had better go."

"Uh, yeah sure." I said, opening the door and walking out of the cafe. I had to ask Amelie if Oliver was right; if he was lying I am so going to kill him.
