Amelie's Point of View
I had wanted to kill Myrnin for what he has done. Then Claire stopped me but that didn't excuse his behaviour. I told him Claire wasn't coming back then took her out to the car, parked in the shadows of the Day House.
On the way back, I checked over Claire. I knew there wouldn't be any cuts or bruises, but that didn't stop me from checking.
"Amelie, really I'm fine! Stop it." She really didn't appreciate me checking her over and after making sure she hadn't lost any teeth or anything else I stopped. "Your acting like my mother."
"Well, I was just making sure. You don't want to find out you have lost anything later, do you?"
"I think I would if I lost anything." Like your- I quickly stopped that train of thought. What was I thinking?
"How do you feel about Shane?" It was a bit abrupt, but I had to know if she still has feelings for him.
"Um... What do you mean?"
"Do you... Do you still love him?" I asked. "I only ask because even though you calmed him down, you didn't look like you have the same feelings."
"Oh right. Well of course I do, but you know when someone comes along and says they have really liked you for ages umm.... Yeah."
"So this is my fault?" I asked.
"Um, no. Uh... Can we talk about this later?" I could tell she was struggling to find the words, so after a moment I nodded.
"Of course." Arriving at my house, the guards parked in the garage and opened the door, offering their hand which I took.
Inside I went to my office... Where I found Oliver sitting at my desk. I am getting fed up with his unscheduled visits.
"What do you want now?" I demanded, shy of snapping.
"Now who's being polite?"
"Oliver." I glared.
He sighed. "Young Claire's friends want to visit her again. They don't know the way here or you wouldn't be able to get rid of them." Oliver picked up a paperweight and twirled it around. That made me irritated; I disliked anyone touching my things, but I didn't say anything to being seen as touchy.
"They are not coming here. I want to speak to Claire about something, then I need to find out where this stalker is hiding."
"I could help you with that."
"You could, if you stopped dropping by unannounced." I offered.
"I can't help it, if I can't stay away from your beautiful face."
"Flattery won't get you anywhere. Agree to stop coming round, without invitation and you can help me." I took the paperweight off him and put it down, away from him.
"Of course. You have your sights set on someone else." He stood up, then added, "Fine. If it makes you happy. But you have to promise me something."
"I can't guarantee it."
"Don't ignore me when I phone. I'm not your mad friend. When I phone, I actually need to talk to you."
I thought about it. "I still can't guarantee it but okay."
"Just when you need me." His terrible flirting was getting him nowhere.
"You might be waiting a long time." Oliver just smiled then left, this time not slamming the door.
Then I heard Claire scream.
Claire's Point of View
I was up in my bedroom, looking through textbooks that had been left by Michael after his visit. I was still bored but the damn voice in my head kept saying that I would miss Amelie too much and that I actually liked staying here. Why did I have a voice in my head? Am I going insane? I really hope not.
I had one of Amelie's guards in my room, Antony, I think his name is. He stood like a statue, not breathing or blinking I don't think. I tried talking to him a few times, but he only either gave a nod or one word answers so I gave up.
I was writing notes when I was sure I heard a rustling sound. I looked at Antony and it looked like he heard it too. Almost everyone in this house was a vampire and they don't make much noise and the windows were closed so they was no wind. My paranoid thoughts were making me nervous so I just froze.
"Stay here." The guard said and went out of the room. It was silent for a few moments, before I heard the sound of a crossbow and someone falling. I screamed and quickly covered my mouth. I was still not used to this, no matter how long I lived here.
I backed up against the wall and a figure in all black came in. He shut the door and locked it, not that it would keep out very strong and pissed off vampires.
"Hello, vampire girl. Think you have a chance against me, now your immortal?" He took slow steps and I cursed myself for not being fearless and cowering against the wall. For God's sake, I'm a vampire. If I was human, I'd have an excuse, but most or all the vampires here would put up a fight, not standing around waiting to die.
"Why are you after me?"
"I don't need to answer to you."
"You do. Because the Founder's coming and she will kill you." I said and mustered up all the courage I had. As Shane has said, we had faced things worse than this guy.
"You relying on the Founder? You do know she cares for no-one and even though she let you live here, you think she will come to your rescue?"
"Yes, because she cares for me or I would have been dead a long time ago."
"And I'm here to finish the job." He held up the crossbow with a silver bolt in it, but without thinking I grabbed it and rammed it into his stomach, ignoring the burns. He yelled and stumbled and with that distraction, I ran to the door and opened it but it wouldn't open. Well, I guess he didn't think it would be as easy as that to kill me. "You think I would let you go so easily, do you?"
He re-aimed the crossbow and fired and I was glad of my vampire reflexes to duck, before it went through my head. I have to get out. The windows are vampire proof, so there is no point in breaking them, so I have to kick down the door. I dodged another bolt meant for my chest and kicked at the door. It splintered, but it would take more kicks to break it down which I didn't have time to do.
The stalker grabbed my hair and pulled me back and with burst of super strength I pulled his arm out of his socket. He howled and I wouldn't lie and said that made me just a little sick, but I carried on with my original intention.
Kicking the door again, it splintered more until a kick came from the other side, more powerful than mine. "Help!" I banged on the door. The stalker snarled showing fangs and grabbed something sharp, probably a knife and threw it but this time, I tried to dodge it and but it lodged in my side. I yelled, and pulled it out and gritted my teeth against the pain. There was another kick and the door burst open and at least 5 guards rushed in and held down the stalker before he could do anything.
Amelie walked in, her eyes red. "You try to kill one of my own?" She picked up the silver knife that had dropped.
"Of course and I'm not finished yet." He snapped one of the guards arm and fired a crossbow at me but the silver knife had weakened me so I couldn't dodge and it slammed into my chest. I screamed and fell to the floor.
I slipped into unconsciousness.
I'm not sure I did this chapter good compared to the others, but I shall let you decide :) AND CLIFFHANGER. I am mean mwahaha...
