The Dragon Virus

Chapter 1

A few weeks ago Toothless was on another search with Hiccup to try and find some new dragons. It was just Toothless and Hiccup because everyone else was focusing on their own things although, Stormfly was trying to beg Astrid into coming along, but due to being part of the Berk Guard they stayed behind. Anyway Hiccup and Toothless were flying when they spotted a mysterious island. "Come on bud, let's land there, not only is it a new island, but I'm almost certain we'll find a new dragon there." Said Hiccup. 'Where have I heard that before.' Thought Toothless. When they landed on the island they immediately started searching for new dragons. "Man, this place is creepy, am I right bud?" Asked Hiccup. Toothless rolled his eyes. 'Of course it's creepy, it feels like this place is haunted.' Thought Toothless. While walking they found a dark cave. 'He's gonna go in there isn't he.' Thought Toothless. "Come on bud, let's go." Said Hiccup. Once Toothless and Hiccup entered the cave they saw why this island looked like it was abandoned. There were signs of scientific experimentation everywhere from glass bottles with weird glowing liquids, to a journal filled with all kinds of notes on what they were doing.

Hiccup opened the book and started reading it. "Bud, this was a research cave, whoever lived here was trying to turn people into dragons, but every time they tried the test subjects died of a sickness." Said Hiccup before he started reading the observations. "Entry number one, it has been three days since Test Subject 001 was injected with the Nightmare serum and there have not been many changes other than the fact that he's gotten hungrier than normal and only will eat meat." Said Hiccup. "Entry 10, it has been a month and Subject 001 has started to cough and wheeze, we are hoping this won't affect the experiment but subject has shown signs of aggressive behavior towards others and sudden bursts of rage, entry 33 it has been four months and subject 001 has lost all signs of his dragon self and is barely ever moving, he coughs and wheezes too much, we think he won't survive much longer, so injected subject 002 with Deadly Nadder serum to try and get a different result, entry 55 subject 001 died a few weeks ago and subject 002 has started showing signs of the same sickness, we think that whatever this is, only those who have been injected with the serum are majorly affected, so we think that this serum lowers immune system productivity." Said Hiccup as he continued reading every single entry was similar to the one before it.

"Bud, I don't like this place, let's get out of here." Said Hiccup. While backing away he tripped over something and fell into a shelf when he yelped as something stabbed him. Toothless saw this and picked Hiccup up before flying out of the cave and blasting the cave to destroy everything inside and even seal the cave off for good. "Good job bud, now let's get out of here, I don't want to be here any longer so let's head home." Said Hiccup. Toothless smiled happily since Hiccup finally wanted to leave and he shot into the air with Hiccup before flying towards Berk as fast as he could so they'd be away from the island. While flying Hiccup rubbed where he got stabbed but didn't feel any blood. "Strange, I can definitely tell I got stabbed by something, but there's no blood, so what stabbed me." Said Hiccup confusedly while they flew home. Toothless saw Hiccup was nervous about something and crooned to try and calm his nerves. "Thanks bud, I'm fine." He said smiling unaware of what really happened.
