It was Laurice (Lea Salonga) and Dominique's (Dawn Zulueta) engagement party. The actual party took place in an exclusive beach resort owned by Dominique's bestfriend, Benjamin (Vice Ganda). And an after party took place by the seashore, which was a surprise for the couple by Benjamin, whose staff set-up a bonfire for "the group".

"The group" was consisted of 4 ladies, 3 men plus Benjamin. The four ladies were Laurice, Dominique, Rhian (Regine Velasquez-Alcasid), and Jeddah (Joanna Ampil) while the three men were Oliver (Ogie Alcasid), Ryland (Richard Gomez), and Avery (Aga Muhlach). The group was formed when they were in high school as they were their school's broadcast journalism team including Benjamin.

The barkada sat around the bonfire and cracked open a bottle of Jose Cuervo and picked on some chips, fine cheese, and some crackers. They all congratulated the newly engaged couple and took a tequila shot each at the same time. Not long later, three tequila bottles were already emptied and Benjamin just cracked open another one.

Everyone's a bit tipsy at this point, except Benjamin and Laurice whose alcohol tolerance — only God knows where they got from.

"Grabe, who in their sane mind would've thought na kayong dalawa pala talaga ang magkakatuluyan ni Laurice, ano Dom?" Jeddah teased Dominique.

"Grabe talaga! Whooo!" Avery said as he downed another shot of tequila.

"Well—" Dominique was to answer but was immediately cut off by Oliver.

"Oo nga, akala ko si Laurice at itong si beshie kong Rhian ang magkakatuluyan eh," Oliver added as he wrapped his arm around Rhian's neck.

Both Rhian and Laurice took a glance of one another at the same time and quickly looked away as they caught each other. Little do they know, Benjamin actually saw what had happened.

"Oliver parang timang!" Ryland quipped, "never naman kayang naging magsyota sina Laurice at Rhian. Gagong to!"

"Eh sorry! Akala ko lang naman kasi," Oliver said in defense raising both his hands up in the air, "sorry Dom if naoffend kita ha? No foul, no harm. I didn't mean to."

"No foul, no harm, Ver. It's okay," Dominique responded as she hugged Laurice's arm and leaned her head on Laurice's shoulder.

"Well, tama naman si Ry, di ba? Right, Rhian? Laurice?" Benjamin smirked.

Rhian chuckled, a bit forcefully, if anyone took notice at that, "oo naman te! Ano ba kayo!"

Laurice, on the other hand, caressed Dominique's hand and kissed the latter's temple before she looked at Benjamin, "yeah. There was never a thing between us, Benj." she then paid attention back at Dominique giving the latter another kiss as she said the following, "so, don't worry, hon. I'm yours and only yours."

This made Rhian look away almost immediately. Pain evidently showing in her eyes.

Flashback

A few weeks back before the engagement party, Laurice and Rhian met at a café via Rhian's request.

"Lau, I have to tell you something. I know we've been friends for a long time now. Best friends pa nga di ba?"

"Of course, Rhi. Of course. Kaya nga you're one of the first people Dom and I sent an invite to for our engagement party."
