This is a very important topic to me...... The job of the reader.
Usually people make the reader a runner. That's great. Its adventurous. But here's the thing: 1) I am a lazy piece of shit 2) My stamina is non-existent 3) Basic asf 4) Somewhat boring
Now trust me, I get it. A MinhoxReader and you want them to run in the Maze together. But it's not realistic. Most people (like myself) hate running and cant run for more than 5 seconds.
Here are some other jobs instead: - Track Hoe (Work in gardens) - Builder - Med Jack - Slicer - Cook - Slopper - Baggers
But you don't have to follow a set job. Since you are the author, you can make a job!!
You can make the reader sort of second-in-command, like Newt. Basically, the reader can work at whatever job needs help.
Now of course the reader could start as a runner and then get kicked off the running team maybe because they get stung by a Griever and Minho gets all protective and makes them quit. That could be cute.

Basically, it's sort of boring when they are just a runner. Sometimes when an author writes about the OC/Y/N character being a runner, you don't get much job detail.
