Number one: I really hope you aren't homophobic if you write a Maze Runner fic. Because surprise surprise besties:
Newt - Is - Gay
He is gay! Yes. Here is this for some, idk, proof?
(this is from Twitter, December 9, 2020, a reply to viszar)
(here is the same James reply but to what he replied to along with the first part)
So, it is wise to keep Newt gay.
Why?
1) It's right to respect that Newt is gay. Let's get real. We have to accept that Newt is fictional and made up by James Dashner. Him confirming Newt is gay, obviously means that Newt is gay.
2) Newtmas
I am such a Newtmas shipper it's not even okay <33333
- Well it is okay. I love it.Now that that's out of the way, here's what I think each characters sexuality is. This is my opinion, just for fun.
Thomas - Bisexual
Newt - Gay (confirmed)
Minho - Pansexual
Gally - Unlabeled (probably experimenting)
Theresa - Bisexual
Brenda - Pansexual
Sonya - Lesbian
Harriet - Lesbian
Frypan - Bisexual
Ben - Gay
Alby - Asexual
Clint - Bisexual
Jeff - Unlabeled
Jorge - Gay (idk, he gives me gay uncle vibes)Now, in conclusion, I think basically no one in the books/movies are straight. If you have your oc as straight, awesome. I personally always make my oc's bisexual or pansexual.
Obviously this is not me telling you what each Maze Runner characters sexuality is (it's my opinion!! pls keep that in mind! well minus Newt, he is confirmed gay) and I am also not telling you that you need to make your oc or y/n apart of the lgbtq+ community.
But, if you do have them as bisexual, then it would be cool to show that. Have them date both girls and boys at one point. It adds to the story.
