My eyes opened slowly to get used to the bright light of the sun in my room. Great, another boring day. I groaned and pulled the covers over my head.

I moved my feet towards the floor and soon got up. As I took a step forward, everything spun in my head that made me sit down again. I smiled slightly at my stupidity of getting up so quickly.

A while later I got up and got ready in the bathroom. After a few minutes, I was in the kitchen, getting my cereal ready. I sat down at the table and started to eat when mom came into the kitchen.

She had many letters in her hand and was reading through them. "Hey baby you got a letter." she said and put a letter next to my cereal bowl. Huh?

I put my spoon aside and stared at the letter. Who is it from? I picked up the letter and turned it around a few times only to find that there was no sender on it. So that meant someone put it in my mailbox in person.

I opened the envelope of the letter and let it through. It was an invitation. An invitation to a quinceañera to be more precise.

I noticed that it was from Olivia and was happy at first, but then I saw that the party was tomorrow. I don't even have a dress.

A frown formed on my forehead. "Sweety? What does the letter say?" asked mom when she lightly touched my shoulder and tried to look into the letter.

I'm not sure why Olivia invited me as I haven't spoken to her that much until now, but I didn't mind. I would go anywhere for free food and drink.

Since I don't have any plans for today anyway and I need a dress, I'll just call Huerita and ask if she can help me choose a dress. I mean... hello? It is a quinceañera.

"I'm invited to Olivia's quinceañera. I think I'll go shopping for a dress with Huerita." I said with a shrug. A smile formed on my mom's face, "This is great, here's some money for the dress." She took out her wallet and gave me a few bills. I smiled back gratefully and ran up to my room.

Before I left the kitchen I turned to her thoughtfully, "Uhm mom, someone will go there with me." I still have to ask Oscar, but I definitely won't go to this big celebration alone. He has to go there with me. She looked at me with a raised eyebrow.

"Uhm... my boyfriend I guess." I looked at her and half expected her to lock me up in my room and never let me out again. My mom's mouth fell open to the floor. "¿Tienes novio?" (You have a boyfriend?) she asked in shock.

"Yeah... but only recently." I said, scratching my neck with my hand. "You'd better bring him to me before you go to the quinceañera." she said with a smile when she noticed how nervous I had become.

I looked up and straight into her eyes, "Of course!" I ran over to her and gave her a hug before I ran into my room to call Huerita.

After the phone rings twice, Huerta answered it. "Yoo." I finally heard and immediately came to my question, "I need a dress. Will you come shopping with me? I have to go to a quinceañera. Please!"
