Chapter 24

I got my self seated next to ahri, she happily greeted me.

Ahri: "I hope you slept well."

She smiled warmly

Me: "I don't get much sleep."

She raised her ears

Ahri: "Well if you slept as soon as we left that should've been more than enough."

Me: "I need to sleep much more than a normal person ahri."

She seemed confused but didn't say anything.

Me: "Imagine sleeping as the need to  scratch an itch, any normal person would get enough scratches to satisfy the itch, but I don't get that luxury, I always have an itch."

Ahri: "That's the downside to your ability right?"

Me: "Mhmm it takes a lot of energy to produce apnoea, and if I don't provide it, the apnoea will take the energy from where ever it can get it, even if that means damaging my body."

Akali: "Whoa, so if you're not careful, your ability could kill you?"

Me: "Yeah."

The mood kinda died after that until evelynn spoke up.

Evelynn: "Did you get my message?~"

I cough before quickly clearing my throat

Me: "Y-yeah."

She had a dissapointed look on her face

Evelynn: "And here I thought you were a man of your word."

She sighed

Evelynn: "I didn't know your mother raised a dishonest son."

I stayed silent for a moment

Me: "If you know what's good for you, don't bring up my mom ever again."

Evelynn: "Hmm~ touchy subject."

I stayed silent the rest of the car ride until we made it to evan's coffee shop. All of us enter and order our coffee, I was about to pay for mine but like always ahri stopped me and paid before I could.

I sat down next to ahri the seats were a bit too small so me and her were squished together.

Evan: "Here ya go N/n."

He handed me my coffee

Evan: "And to you ladies."

He handed each of them their respective coffee. I took a small sip and instantly felt more energized.

Ahri: "Hey, why didn't you want us to know where you lived?"

Me: "Does it really matter?"

She stayed quiet and took a sip of her coffee

Ahri: "I guess not."

She smiled at me

Ahri: "But still I would like to know."

Me: "Quite the curious nine tails huh?"

I drank the rest of the coffee

Me: "I didn't want you knowing because I knew you'd show up everyday and drag me along."

I haven't noticed but her tails were all over me, resting.

Ahri: "Why shouldn't you want to come with us, don't you have fun."

I sat back

Me: "I will neither confirm or deny that."

Akali: "Admit it dude, we're growing on you."
