"There she drives away, leaving you once again. A bloody fickle," Shaw says. "You want bloody, we can do bloody," I say. "A street kid, starting with stealing DVD players and ends up stealing a 100 million in Rio," Shaw says. "Not bad, huh?" I ask. "It's a good story. Almost inspiring. I just can't understand why he isn't sprawled on the beach with his hot Brazilian number," Shaw says trying to get under my skin. "No, he chooses to work for two-bit government hack like Hobbs. But then I realized, he has a soft spot."
"We all have one," I say not fazed by what he is saying. "You know what? When I was younger, my brother used to say, 'every man has a code.'" Shaw says before continuing. "Mine? Precision. A team is nothing but pieces moved around until the job is done, It is effective and works. But you, you're loyal to a fault. Your code is about family. Which is great during the holidays, but it makes you predictable. And in our line of work predictable means vulnerable. And that means that I can reach out and break you whenever I want."
"At least when I go, I'll know what it's for," I say as I narrow my eyes at him. "At least you have a code. Most men don't," He says as if he is trying to decide something. "So I'm gonna give you a chance to take your crew and walk away. That's the only way you're going to able to keep your family safe." "I guess your brother never told you not to ever threaten a man's family. It's a stupid thing to do," I say and he smirks. "I'll walk away when she does."
"It appears that this story has reached its end," He says nodding to my answer and looking at my chest. I look down to see a red dot from a sniper on my chest. "If that's the way it has to be," I say looking at his chest. He looks down to see a red dot on his heart. "Let me guess. Hobbs?" He asks. "Two-bit government hack," I say with a smirk. "See ya around Toretto," He says getting in his car. "You can bet on it," I say and he drives away.
(August P.O.V.)
I've been sitting around nervously waiting for Brian to get back. Hobbs found a hideout Shaw was at and came back with something for Tej to look at. Dom arrived back a while before that after having a confrontation with Letty, then Shaw.
"What do ya got, Parker? Give me something good." Hobbs says and I walk over to see what they are talking about. "Heating and radar reflective paint," Tej says. "That's what the military uses," I say. "Exactly. We have a list of the European bases that use it, but we kind find it," Tej says. "Cross-check it with Shaw's military objectives. I guarantee one of them matches," Hobbs says. "Bingo! A NATO base in Spain." Tej says after cross-checking. "The Shaw is in another country. He has an eight-hour lead. Riley and I'll go ahead and shut down the base. We must protect the device. I'll have the cars flown over there. Brush up on your Spanish boys. I'll see you in Espana," Hobbs says as him and Riley leave. I go and pack then head over and talk to Dom.
"I'm not leaving without him," I say to Dom. "Don't worry we're not. He should be back soon," Dom says sending me a small smile. "Did he talk to you before he left?" "Yeah. Why?" I ask. I know I should tell Dom, I'm pregnant but I don't want him to go into overprotective brother mode. "It's just that we both noticed you are acting differently," Dom explains and I nod. "I mean you've kind of been sitting out of all of the action and that's not like you." I sigh and decide to tell Dom.
"Dom, I know I should have told you sooner, but I wanted to tell Brian first and there was never time to tell him because getting Letty back is our number one priority right now. I guess since I finally told Brian, I can tell you now," I say giving him a shy smile. "Well, what is it?" Dom asks. "You have to promise me that this stays between Brian, you and me for now," I say. "I promise. Aug, what is it. You're starting to scare me," Dom says with a frown.
"I'm pregnant," I say and watch many emotions go across Dom's face before a smile forms on his face. He pulls me into a hug. "The family just got a whole lot bigger," he says. Then we hear a commotion coming from where the elevator is. Dom walks over to go see what it is. I follow behind really slow.
"What's happening?" I hear Brian's voice say. I stop, hoping it's really him. "They're going to attack the NATO base in Spain. Hobbs and Riley have already headed over there. We're to meet them there." I hear Rome explain. "She wouldn't leave without you," I smile at that. I walk out and he sees me and smiles. He scoops me up in a hug and as he sits me down he kisses my forehead.
"I missed you," I say smiling at him. "I missed you too." He says before turning to face Dom. "I found out what happened to Letty. It's all my fault." I wrap my arms around his waist, hugging him. He goes to explain more but Dom stops him. "Brian, whatever you found out, is for you to know. What we do now is for her," Dom says. Then we get on the plane to leave.
(Brian P.O.V.)
We are on the plane on our way to the base and are discussing a plan.
"Braga said that you only get close to Shaw if he wants you to," I explain. "Where is the device Tej?" Dom asks. "They're moving it to a safe place." Tej answers.
"Shaw isn't attacking the base. He's gonna attack the convoy," August says. We get the pilot to drop the guys off at the nearest airstrip near where the convoy will be. August stays on the plane to go to the base. She has a walkie-talkie to listen in on us.
(August P.O.V.)
We are on a plane on our way to the base and are discussing a plan.
"Braga said that you only get close to Shaw if he wants you to," Brian explains. "Where is the device Tej?" Dom asks. "They're moving it to a safe place," Tej answers. "Shaw isn't attacking the base. He's gonna attack the convoy," I say as it all clicks. We get the pilot to drop the guys off at the nearest airstrip near where the convoy will be. I stay on the plane to go to the base. I have a walkie-talkie to listen in on the guys.
"I'd better hurry up, boys. They've just taken over the convoy. And Dom...Letty is with them," Tej says. We stick to the plan," Dom responds. "Uuh, guys. We're gonna need another plan. Guys, they have a tank." Tej says frantically. "Did someone just say a tank?!?!" Rome asks frantically.
"We've got company," Brian says. "Who has a plan B?" Rome asks still frantic. "Plan B? We need Plan C, D, and E! We need more alphabets!" Tej says just as frantic. "Hey. We do what we do best. We improvise!" Brian says which brings a smile to my face.
"Hold on, Roman!" Brian says after a little while. "Do something! Someone! I have a tank on my ass!" Rome yells. I wonder what Rome could have gotten himself into now. I hope everybody is okay. "Brian, the car will make a good anchor!" Dom says after a while.
"I got it!" Brian responds. That is the last thing I heard. I hope they completed the mission and no one is hurt. The plane lands and as I get off I am grabbed from behind. Whoever it is, throws a bag over my head. I don't struggle because I don't want anything to happen to the baby.
(Brian P.O.V.)
We get back to the base and I want to look for August, but we have to finish business first. Besides, she'll probably find me before I find her.
