I had just gotten to the hall later that night. Emotions were running high, and I was running low. It wouldn't take me long to snap. Especially not tonight.
I could hear someone coming, so I turned around, and Harrison walked in. I looked at my watch and then I looked back at him and I said "you're late. Imagine if principal Colstone was here already, wouldn't have been a good impression." He looked at me and then he responded with "sorry, I fell asleep. Also, I was trying to avoid the moon, it's already up. Are you okay though? You seem a bit off." I took a deep breath and then I replied with "I'm extremely tired, but I'm fine. Let's just get through tonight, everything else can come after." The lights had come on, and we turned around. Principal Colstone was standing there and then he said "Haven and Harrison, you two have done a phenomenal job. This ocean themed dance, is incredible. Oceans are actually my favourite thing. I love things I can't see. So either up in space, or at the bottom of the ocean. I don't even need to see the rest of the presentation. Harrison, it is clear that you have worked very hard these past few months. Clearly, you have learned from your mistakes and you are trying to better yourself as a person. For that, I have no reason to keep you on community service any longer, you are free to go."He smiled and then he asked "really? I'm done?"
Principal Colstone nodded and then he responded with "yes, you're done. Have a good night you two. I'll see you both tomorrow, presumably at the dance." And then he walked out.
I smiled at Harrison and then I said "you did it. I'm so proud of you."
He came closer to me and then he asked "can I have a hug? Considering the fact that these past two weeks, you barely spoke to me unless it was dance related. I know I caught you out with that kiss, and I know that the reason you were so scared, is because you've never been in a relationship, and you're afraid to open up. You think someone won't understand the baggage that you carry. But there's always someone, even if it's just one person. They will understand what you're going through. In this case, it's me. We're both werewolves, we understand each other."
Hearing Harrison say that, made me realise, he was right. I was afraid to open up to people. I was afraid to believe that people would actually want to be with me. And now that they do, I don't know how to act. So I avoid the situation as much as possible. It doesn't make it go away though. Pushing your problems aside, doesn't get you anywhere.
I looked at him and then I went up to him and hugged him and I said "emotion isn't something I'm good at. I've always struggled to say how I'm feeling. It's not great, but I never want to get my hopes up. I used to. I used to believe that one day, my dad would come home. He would come up with some bullshit excuse, about where he's been, and I would just accept it. I waited sixteen years for him to at least send a text, he never did. My own dad broke my heart, before any boy had a chance to."
He pulled away from the hug and he responded with "thank you for sharing that with me. I know that it must've been hard to open up like that. But I bet that a nice run through the forest, as a wolf, would definitely help." I nodded and then we both went into the forest by school.
We were just chilling by the forest. We knew the transformation was going to start soon. We've been under the light of the full moon for about an hour.
Then we both felt a sharp pain in our backs, and that's when Harrison said "are you ready?"
I looked at him and then I responded with "as ready as I'll ever be."
We both looked at each other, and then we went deeper into the forest. We heard a voice from behind us say "I know that three's a crowd. But how about three werewolves? Is that still too much?" We turned around and, there stood Sapphire.
