Episode 8: New Life

I stayed in the hospital for over one month and the Doctors couldn't really identify what was wrong with me but I was given injection to subdue the pains in my stomach. It was the following month that the Doctors discovered that I had Appendicitis which left me with no other option than to go for operation but I was defiant so I was kept on drip.
One afternoon, a young man came into my ward walking with a Nurse.
"Ma, this young minister is here to see you " the Nurse said immediately they entered my ward. I felt like yelling but I decided to comport myself.
"Good afternoon Ma'am " He greeted
"Afternoon you may have your seat. I said directing him to sit down on the chair, but he kept mute maybe because of the Nurse.

"Please excuse me " The Nurse said and left us in the ward.
The young so called minister walked close to the bed and sat down, so I adjusted on the bed and he sat down properly and cleared his throat. Nancy got up as if something bite her.
"Miss, please we want to go home and freshen up. We will return in the evening with food for you " Nancy said for herself and Juliet

"No problem. You girls should be careful " I said
"OK Ma. See you later. Bye " They said in unison as if they rehearsed the same line of words. The girls left me behind alone with a young handsome minister, I felt like straddling him and having fun right away but he was looking too spiritual.
"Am Brother Theophilus but you can call me Bro. Theo. I am here with my team for hospital evangelism, so I was told by one of the Nurses about you so I decided to come and see you. Meeting you is for a purpose " he said

"I see " that's all I could say
"How are you doing Ma? " he asked
"Just fine, I don't know how long I will be in this condition and am scared of going for surgery "
"Do you know that God can heal you? " he asked
"Which God? Where was this God when I lost my parent? When I was maltreated by my Uncle and raped? Where was this God when I had to face alot of challenges till now? " I asked trying not to cry
"He was and is in Heaven. What you have been through is not God's plan for your life, the devil which is an enemy has done this. There is one thing you should know. God has really preserved and protected you all this while because He is interested in your life. So blaming God doesn't solve anything, but walking with Him will be a better option " He said
"So you mean that this God has been watching me all this while? " I asked with curiosity
"Yes " he answered
"God loves you and wants to take you to Himself as long as you are willing to surrender to Him."
"Yes am willing but will He ever accept me? because my sins are too much " I asked feeling pathetic
"He will. It was because of our sins that made Him die on the cross of calvary. In Isaiah 1:18 it says 'Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.' You might have committed sin that men will condemn you and despise you but Jesus never despise you, your family may reject you but Jesus will not reject you as long as you go to Him So therefore He is ever ready because He has been waiting for you all this years " He said and I started weeping
"I am ready. How can I go to Him? " I asked with tears
"Close your eyes right now and picture Jesus standing in front of you. Tell Him all the sins you have committed and ask Him to forgive you in His Mercy " He guided and I did as he said while he was praying in tongues and I felt so emotional that more tears were flowing from my eyes.
When I finished, he prayed for me and I felt peace of mind.
"Thank God for you. From now henceforth be praising God for every good thing He does for you. Let's pray "he held my hands and I could feel a burning sensation of fire
"Father thank you for your daughter who has come back home, I pray you give her the grace to stand and the courage to walk with you in Jesus name "
"Amen " I responded
"Right now I pray let your healing virtue come upon her right now, I command the fire of the Holy Ghost to burn away every sickness, diseases in Jesus name "
"Amen "
"Be with her and guide her from now on, thank you Father because I know you have answered in Jesus name I pray "
"Amennn. "
I felt as if something jumped out from me and the pains disappeared instantly but I refused to him.
"God bless you Ma'am. We will meet some other time " he said standing up and two ladies walked in and greeted me, with the look of things it shows that they were walking with Bro. Theophilus
"We will be taking our leave now, but read this tract and anything you don't understand call the church line behind for explanation " he said handing me two tracts. As they were about leaving the ward, Nancy ran into the ward panting heavily.
"What happened? " I asked
"Miss, armed robbers broke into the house yesterday night, they killed the gateman and packed all the valuable things in the house including your two jeeps. She said with all manners of seriousness
"What did you just say? " I asked trying to regain consciousness
"Noooooooooooooo!!!!!! " I screamed
"The police stopped us from entering the house, they said it's under investigation and the entrance door was removed " she said and I started crying
"My house, my gateman, my car ahhhhhhh "
"Ma'am you have to calm down " Bro. Theophilus said
"Where do I go from here? " I asked rhetorically
"Don't worry, we have accommodation in the church, you can stay there till you are able to get another accommodation " Bro. Theophilus said still giving me that hopeful and calm smile. I couldn't say anything
"Ma'am we will be leaving now since its getting late, please be strong, we will be checking on you from time to time till you are discharge. Good Bye " Bro. Theophilus said and they ladies gave me side hug before they all left us.
One week later, check up was conducted on me only to discover that Appendicitis disappeared on its own and I was discharged. I couldn't go back home so I was taken to the church. Bro. Theophilus solicited on my behalf to the Pastor in charge of the church for the accommodation. I was given the house to stay.
Nancy and Juliet went back to their respective homes while I was left alone to start a new life afresh.
