Chapter 10

I was dreaming peacefully of what life would be like with a boyfriend I would be turning 16 in the coming days and I could not be more excited. Me and Dallas have been hanging out non-stop and I think Dad has kind of gotten annoyed with it but I know deep down he really likes Dallas.

I am walking through a field full of daisy's and I can feel the flower petals brush my fingertips as I walk hand and hand with my fictional boyfriend whose face isn't clear. As if it has yet to be decided.

I skip around while he laughs at my giddiness, but I don't bother to stop but instead come upon a small picnic that was set up in the middle of the field.

We sit down on the denim blanket and eat chocolate strawberries and small finger sandwiches. I was over the moon with joy, and I can't help but wish this was my reality.

The sun was setting over the horizon as he turned to me and began to lean in and I did the same. I could feel his hot breath as he neared my face and could almost feel his gently lips brush mine but.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!" I sat up with a large jolt and nearly took out my dad who was standing a few inches from where I shot up.

"See that's why I stood back." I heard him mutter to the others in the room. I rubbed the sleep from my eyes and looked around to find the entire team there to wish me a happy birthday which was a sweet gesture, but man did it scare me.

"Good morning." I mumbled as I tried to wake up and get out of bed. I threw my covers off and put on my slippers and was about to walk to my closet when suddenly Thor picked me up and put me on his shoulder and I was carried out of my room with extra care so I wouldn't hit my head on my door frame.

"Happy birthday Lady Jordyn. Stark has prepared one of the biggest celebrations that I have seen here on earth." He said as we walked down to the family room where a few small presents were set out on the coffee table just like I had requested. I didn't want him spending all his money on my presents when we had planned the greatest sweet sixteen birthday party.

"Wow dad I am actually surprised that you didn't go all out for my birthday." I said as Thor set me down on the couch and Pepper and Dad took their seat next to me as the rest of the team sat around us.

"Yaaaa," Dad said which made me skeptical but chose to ignore it as Clint came up and handed me a gift bag.

I opened it and inside was a mountain of my favorite candies like Twix Snickers and symphony bars. And a bottle of diet Coke which was my new obsession.

"Oh my god Clint you are a saint. Thank you." And made sure to place the bag away from Dad because I know he likes to steal my candy.

"Here." Bruce hands me a small box so it gave me some relief that I wasn't going to get a textbook for the third year in a row.

I opened it to find a vial of some sorts and a note.

"BioLuminate flowers. They glow in the dark when placed in water." I looked closer at the vial and saw the small outline of flowers inside. "Wow that's amazing I am getting a vase or something to put it in. Thanks Bruce." Next up was Steve.

It was wrapped in wrapping paper that was covered in balloons and Happy Birthday signings. I ripped open the paper and out fell a sketchbook and a set of nice colored pencils.

"I am going to be using these so much, Thank you Steve." I said setting it down on the coffee table beside the flowers and candy. Next was Natasha and she just gave it to me without wrapping which made the reveal that much cooler.

It was a glossy pocketknife with an engraving into the side of it which read, 'Little Killer' and Nats initials on the blade.

"I take it I will be using this in training?" I said closing the knife and flipping it around.
