The bottle spun, landing on me. I sucked in a breath and said "dare."

"Well, it seems you have guts after all," Connor teased, "What are we going to make you do?" The room fell quiet and everyone looked back and forth. Connor grinned and I knew this was going to be bad, my heart hammered in my chest. The suspense was killing me. "I dare you to," he paused for dramatic effect, "find the lost jewel of Romhilda." I gasped, everyone knew that anyone who has ever tried to find Romhilda's Jewel died under mysterious circumstances. "Looks like I better start packing then," I sighed. I was quite distraught, my palms felt clammy and my head was pounding. I have to find Romhilda's Jewel.

The little alarm clock on my bedside read 2:30pm, I still had half an hour before I had to be at the airport. I was leaving for Michel to study all the clues I could possibly get. Tap, tap, tap. The faint knocking of someone outside snapped me out of my flustered daze. "Come i-in," I almost yelled, the door creaked open and Jeramiah shuffled inside. "Hey Jeramiah- you alright?" I asked. "Yeah I'm fine Lil, but do you really have to go find that bloody jewel?" I was shocked at Jeramiah's exclamation; he was usually timid. "Well Jeramiah," I smirked, "a dare's a dare. I gotta do what I gotta do, ya know?" "If you have to go, then I'm coming too," he huffed, there was no talking him out of it, once Jeremiah made up his mind there was no going back.

We arrived at the airport just as the gates were closing. We ran to the front desk and handed the tickets to the gate agent. We hurried onto the plane and got to our seats; the noisy chatter of the economy seating didn't cool my nerves as I tried to re-read my favourite book.
