The following morning dragged on, seeming to lead us in circles. The journal was written in some foreign language and I spent nearly the entire morning on language thesaurus trying to figure out how to translate the passages. After hours of testing each different language, we could finally understand what the text said.
I started to translate the rest of the journal to Messerias when I heard a whisper in my ear "cometh with me and thee shall beest safe," I shuddered, a chill spread through my body. The voice was cold and raspy, as if it had not spoken for years. The lights dimmed and I heard the slow beat of... was it a love song? Confused, I turned around to face what could only be described as a demon. I stifled a scream and ran to the door; the demon laughed and threw a jewel at me. It gleamed in the soft evening light streaming through the window. The demon vanished.
