My Safe Place

Chapter 9:

Spence's POV:

Still flushed from the incident a few minutes earlier, I walk out of the bathroom dressed in my boxers as I let JJ in. I see she had cleaned up the kitchen, something I should have done for her. I sit down on the couch and see nothing good on. I grab a book and begin to read. Not more than 15 minutes later I finish 4 books and JJ emerges out of the shower. I couldn't help but notice her shirt was a bit shorter than usual. I look at the clock, 9:27.

"Ready for bed?" I ask as she rubs her eyes.

"Yea, we have to be up early tomorrow," she says stretching.

JJ lays in bed as I set the clock for 7am. I climb in as she curls up next to me. I still can't stop asking myself if this is normal between friends. I fall asleep as I rub her back.

Hours later (1:32am), still Spence's POV:

I wake up to hear a noise. At first I think someone is in the hotel, but soon realize it was only JJ. I start to go back to sleep until I hear her moan.

"Mm, fuck," she says sleeping.

I feel as if I am intruding but I continue to listen anyways.

"Uhhhmm," she says shaking a bit.

She isn't having a sex dream, is she? Who would it be about anyways, she absolutely hates Will so it would never be him. She doesn't talk to any guys either, which I would know because we never leave each other's side. It's not me, as much as I wish it was, but we are only very good friends. I notice her inch herself underneath me. Not knowing what to do, I lay overtop of her, hoping she won't be crushed. I scoot down a bit so I'm laying on her chest. Every-so-often I hear her moan while I try to sleep, and eventually I do.

*beep* *beep* *beep*

I wake up groggily and see JJ opening her eyes. She looks confused seeing me on her.

"Sorry, I must have laid on you last night," I say not wanting her to know I had heard her dreams.

"It could have been me, I move around sometimes," she says stretching her arms.

We get up to get dressed and we head out the door at 8:00, giving us time to board the tram that brings us to the parks. The first two days we head to Disney's Hollywood Studios. We go on all the rides such as The Twilight Zone: Tower or Terror, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Slinky Dog Dash, and Toy Story Mania. As silly as some of them were, they were very fun and took away some of the stress work and the Will situation brings.

JJ's POV:

It's the last day of our Disney trip and we had been going on the rest of the rides at Magic Kingdom. The Seven Dwarfs and Space Mountain had been my favorite. It was 8:50pm and me and Spence decided to watch the fireworks since it was our last night.

*BOOM*

They had started. We watch as they go off big and beautiful. I look up at Spence to see him smiling. I give him a hug.

"I love you JJ, more than just friends," he says looking into my eyes.

Not being able to express my happiness, I kiss his cheek. Then pull him into a kiss on his lips, shutting my eyes. Just as I kissed him two big fireworks went off, but I didn't care to look. I was too happy and focused on him.

As I pull away I look at him, "you have no idea how long I have been hoping for you to say that," I say smiling.

"Excuse me," I hear a man say as someone taps on my shoulder.

Spence and I turn to look at a man with his phone glowing.

"I was just about to take a picture as the fireworks went off with you two in front."

"Oh I'm so sorry," I start to say until him hear the rest of his sentence.

"I was about to delete the picture before I saw how great it looks," he says showing us the picture.

It was a picture of Spence and I kissing with the bright yellow fireworks above us, the castle behind us. It was beautiful.

"I was wondering if you would like it before I delete it?"

"Yes please!" I say giving him my number, "thank you so much," I say as he walks away.

Garcia was right, this place really is magical. I look at Spence and hold his hand tightly. The fireworks had ended and we head back to our hotel. I begin to take off my jacket as Reid begins talking.

"So um, uh like are we u-uh-," I cut him off noticing he was nervous.

"Dating?" I ask.

"Yea," he says watching himself figet with his thumbs.

"I don't know, are we?" I ask knowing very well that I want to.

"I would like to be," he says looking at me skittishly.

"Then ask me dummy," I say giving him a kiss on the lips.

"Would you like to go out on a date?" He says pulling me into a hug.

"Yes, very much," I say breathing in his cologne.
