Down on earth~
"Hey dad?" Jackie called as she walked back into her house with a book in her hand. "Did you order a book?" closing the door behind her, she looked at her father who was staring with shocking eyes. "It finally came??" He yelled in excitement.
"Uh, so it's yours?" He rushed towards the red head and felt on the book. Maybe it's just me, but he's acting like it's some sort of magical ingredient that will bring mom home.. ok.. maybe that's a personal and very specific assumption, but I hate her for leaving us. Because now my dad has a new wife, technically she's been his girlfriend since I was four and they got married 2 months ago, but she also has a 17 year old son in which I am very very nervous about because they're moving in tonight. He isn't exactly nice to me, but we have our bonding moments.
"No, it's yours.. I thought you may need a diary." He said. She snapped out of her thoughts. A Diary? Seriously? "Thanks dad..." His smile was huge, and luckily he had no idea how to read expressions so her disappointment was totally see-through. "Well uh, I'll be upstairs!" Jackie stood on her tippy toes, kissing her father's cheek, and not long after walking upstairs. "Remember, be ready by 8!" Ronald yelled after her.
"K!" She said, closing her room door and immediately flopped on her bright turquoise bed to text her best friend, Kindle.
Jackie: Ok, so.. my dad gave me a gift
Kindle: And? You aren't special.
Jackie: No I'm not bragging! I'm just saying, its weird.
Kindle: What's weird about it?
Jackie: It's a "Diary"
Kindle: And?
Jackie: I don't need a dairy! Plus is just.. Idk it's weird?
Kindle: Call me, I wanna see it.
She looked at her phone, then her book and called Kindle, her curiosity grew as she remembered how her father acted when he realized it delivered, and now her best friend probably has an idea as to what it is. I'm confused.. it's just a journal. She answered.
"Show me."
"Ok, ok," Jackie pointed the camera view to her new book and heard a gasp from her phone. "I knew it!" Kindle said, "You have one of those books!"
"Uh.. you have to be a little more specific?" She replied, now staring at the book with both eyebrows up.
"Jackie, Baby! Their here!" Her dad called from downstairs.
"Crap! I have to go, tell me about this later ok?"
"Mhm," She hummed while hanging up. Jackie jumped out of her bed and put on something more presentable than the huge T-shirt and sweatpants she had on. Walked slowly down the stairs with her phone, she was met by her step mother. "Hi!" she smiled, hugging her.
"Hello, darling!" Elen happily greeted. Their chests parted, forcing Jackie to look up at her half brother. "Do I get a hi today?" She said with a slight smile.. he wore a green shirt with black sleeves and black pants, looking exactly like his mom and nothing like Jackie's dad. Its hard to believe we're related. She thought while she waited for his response.
"Hi," He said, sarcastically with the same smile he'd been given after his mom nudged his shoulder. Jackie felt that she had to be nice to him because him and her crush's older brother are friends. I cannot risk him seeing me do anything weird. She constantly thought because of the fact that they're officially living together after today.. but.. he wouldn't stoop that low, hopefully.
The family sat down at the dinner table, reaching for food options to put on their plates. "So.. you excited about going to a new high school?" Ronald asked Ray. "Oh, um, a little nervous, actually.." He rubbed the back of his neck as he laughed awkwardly. Jackie rolled her eyes, it reminded her of how much she hates his sweet act when they're with their parents. It gets old.
"Well I'm sure Jackie wouldn't mind hanging around and showing you how the school works?" He looked over at his daughter who frowned. "Dad. I'm a sophomore he's a senior.. it doesn't work that way," She said, picking at her plate. "Well there's no need to be negative, you two could figure something out.. I don't see the problem?" He proceeded on the topic she was clearly avoiding. Elen, Ronald, and Ray were all looking at her.
"Yeah, what's the problem?" the confused blonde spoke, in other words, Elen. Jackie earned a much not wanted smile from her brother. She fake smiles, "What I mean is, I'm sure a girl of his interest would be oh so desperate to show him around the school," is what the girl wanted to say.. because when they would go out to somewhere as simple as a store, a girl would come up to him and practically stare her down as if she's some kind of competition.. which was understandable to her because they don't look like siblings at all, but when did people even get so bold? "It's not a problem at all! I'm just always busy with extra school clubs and photography." She said instead.

The night has always been a pain, she could never seem to fall a-sleep. And frankly, it was gonna be even harder to sleep because she now has to deal with the idiot across the hallway; who it sounds like he's clapping while listening to one of his stupid songs that he listens to and claps along on a daily basis.
New message from: Bestie<3
Jackie's phone lit up, she set her alarm then opened the message.
Kindle: Bring the book your dad gave you to school tomorrow.
Jackie: Uhh? Ok? Why?
Kindle: Because, you're stupid and I need to explain to you how it works!
Jackie: Can't you just text me how it works?
Kindle: Less fun.
Jackie: Fine, See ya tomorrow!
Kindle: Night, girl!
She smiled at her phone and turned it off, charging it and placing it on her desk. Her pillow was comfortable.. Her eye lids grew heavy, and her body felt relaxed enough to be able to be completely forgotten about in her sleep. That's when she realized she had to pick her phone back up to text Ray to quit whatever he was doing to cause her distraction from sleep.
Jackie: Could you stop, please?
Ray: What?
Jackie: Stop with the clapping! it's loud!
Ray: I'm not clapping..
Ray: Then..
Jackie: Ok, ew that's gross.
Ray: I think it's best we both sleep as quick as possible-
Jackie: I agree-
Jackie shivered at a thought forming in her mind, which was chosen to be ignored because of how scaring it would be to think of it. ew. She thought while cuddling into her fluffy body pillow.
