The quadruple were playing family games, laughing, winning and losing . "You boys wanna spice this up a bit?" Jackie pulled her plan into action. "Sure, why not?" Kyle smirked. "How?" Ray asked, while picking up the cards and stacking them. "A bet!" Jackie smiled innocently. "Ok. Whats the catch?" Ray asks."If me and Kindle win, we get to take a your motorcycle for a spin. If we lose, you guys get the house to yourself and me and kindle will go to her house." She explained, earning smirks from the boys an immediately took it as a deal. She got excited and thought about places to go.
"Deal." Kyle says and starts looking at a good competitive family game that involves teams, "Heads up?" he sort of guessed while he looked at everyone. "Sure." They all said at the same time.
20 minutes later
"teacher???" Kindle yelled out, guessing what the job is by Jackie's description. "No! You're so close!" the time was running out and Jackie was starting to get worried, determined to win. "Principal??"
"Hell yeah!" The redhead shouted in joy and did their signature handshake. "WE WON!" the girls smiled and Jackie held out her hand with a smirk, asking for the keys. "Here" her half-brother glared, handing her the keys, holding his part of the bet.
"I mean we still technically have the house to ourselves for a little?" Kyle tried to cheer him up. "Yeah, but she might wreck my bike."
"Oh me? Your sweet little sis? I would never." She started to walk out of the house, followed by her best friend, they were both really excited. "Oh, could you grab my purse?" Jackie asked. "Already have it" Kindle smiled, knowing she would need it.
"Oh boy." Ray shook his head. "And you couldn't guess Michel Jackson??" He continued. "Well, what was I supposed to do with 'Hee Heeee'!" The two started to bicker like a married couple while the girls were starting the motorcycle and riding away.
Jackie didn't know where she was going, nor did she care... She had finally gotten a chance to ride her brother's bike and that's all she cared about. The bike led them to their favorite ice cream shop. ¨Chocolate please.¨ Jackie told the cashier.
¨Chocolate? You ok?¨ Kindle asked, concerned. She'd never gotten chocolate ice cream unless something unsettling was on her mind.
¨Yeah? I just can't stop thinking about the book...¨ The cashier gave Jackie her change and two ice cream cones, one with strawberry and caramel, and one with plain chocolate. They both sat at a picnic table.¨Oh, well I probably guessed wrong anyway. Did you bring it?¨
¨It's in my bag I think, I never got to put it back in my locker or book bag because the bell rung while it was still ou-¨
¨IT REPLIED!¨ Jackie was interrupted, she looked at Kindle with wide eyes from the scare. Even the cashier peaked his head out to see what was going on. ¨What are you talking about?¨
¨Look! Oh my gosh, I can't believe your father got you one of these, they cost a fortune!¨
¨It's just a book though?¨
Kindle laughed. ¨It's definitely not just a book.¨
¨Elaborate?¨ Jackie questioned, taking the book into her own hands. The puzzle pieces started to come together as she remembered how excited her dad was and how her friend had reacted when she showed what the book looked like.
Jackie read the note out loud.
Hi! I'm technically your diary... You could ask me for advice, rant to me, anything but asking about my identity! Of course, you could always ask questions like ¨How is this happening?¨ ¨Why is this book talking back to me?¨ ¨Why is your handwriting ugly, ew, I don't want you writing in my book,¨ and many more! I'm open to any questions you have! I know this is weird so let's try to understand together!
¨Aw, your person is so cute!¨ Kindle squeals and looks up to Jackie smiling. So... care to explain? You seem to know a lot. Do I write back? This is so weird!¨
¨Yes, of course, you write back!¨
¨What do I say?¨ The redhead asks, while she pulls a pen out of her purse. Looking down at the paper with their short conversation displayed on it. She clicked her pen and started writing.
Haha, none of that, but I do have a few questions? Uhh, first. HOW IS THIS HAPPENING?? Second, am I at least allowed to know your name so I won't be calling you ¨Weird book¨ all the time? Also my friend thinks you sound cute :)
¨What'd you write!?¨ Kindle asks. ¨Dont worry about it, let's just get home and see if we can look up what this is.¨
Kindle nodded so they both headed back to the house. After parking, Jackie noticed that she didn't damage her brother's bike, she was proud, but it was boring. ¨Let's put sand on it and make it look like we got it scratched¨ Jackie chuckled and nudged her head towards the side of the bike where they would most likely put the sand. ¨Haha, alright.¨
They didn't stop until the sand disguised as a scratch was believable. ¨Heyyyyy big bro.¨ She said, in a tone that hinted something bad had happened.
¨What did you do?¨ Ray grounded, turning to see the two girls with their annoying faces and their hands behind their backs. ¨Your baby got scratched by a cat.¨ Jackie smirked and ran upstairs, Kindle not far behind.
¨ I'm gonna kill you! Are you kidding me!¨ He jumped from the couch and ran outside to see his motorcycle.
Meanwhile, the girls got comfortable upstairs. Jackie took out her computer and searched ¨What is the red book.¨ She didn't know what they were actually called, so she just typed a description. But, her eyes widened at the results. What the fuck.
