"Love you honey," Jackie's dad kissed her on the forehead, "I'm headed to work!" He said as he grabbed his work bag and left before she could say anything. He was running late. "Morning, half sis." Ray said, excitedly.

"Um, you know we have uniforms, right?" She asked, looking at his outfit.. he wore a gray stripped shirt and black pants. "Ew, seriously?" He whined.

"Your uniform is laying on your dresser." Elen added while making her morning coffee. Jackie was enjoying her favorite cereal, fruity pebbles. The only thing she hated about them was that she would have to rush and eat them if she wanted them to be crunchy. "You might wanna hurry.. the bus will be here soon." She said, looking up at him once again at the end of the steps, his back was slumped and his face was scrunched up. I can't believe girls find him cute.. he's such a doof. Jackie chuckled.

"It's not funn-" He started.

"I'm driving you two to school this morning, Rayon go change." The older woman spoke, leaning against the island while sipping her steaming coffee. He groaned and dragged his feet up the stairs.

We'll be late. The beautiful red head thought as the car pulled up in the line outside of Chick-Fil-A. Crap I didn't tell Kindle I wasn't gonna be riding on the bus this morning, which in my defense, I didn't know either.. but I won't hear the last of her complaining about how Sam probably sat by her and talked her ear off. Jackie sighed while Ray told the woman in the driver seat what he wanted.

"Do you want anything?" She turned, "Oh, no thanks.. I had cereal." As much as Jackie loved her, she didn't want this to become a daily morning routine. She was used to waking up to her father leaving late as he always does to go to work.. that rough kiss she would always get on the forehead because of how much of a hurry he's in. I can already feel myself missing it and it hasn't even gone away yet.

They finally got to the school, Jackie quickly got out of the car as if how fast she walked to class would make her any less late than she already was, and to make matters worse for her, she had to show Ray to his class. "Hi! You must be new.." This familiar voice spoke, a silhouette "cutely" running towards the couple.

"Oh, yeah.. I'm Ray.. you?" He said with no hesitance, like he was expecting it. Like he's spent hours thinking of this exact line to respond with.

Jackie rolled her eyes and walked off, assuming she'd offer to show him to class.

"Hi! Sorry I'm late.. I uh.." She had to quickly think of an excuse, which was a little challenging .. because she's never had to make an excuse for being late. "missed the bus?-" She sat in her normal seat beside Kindle while the teacher nodded the excuse away. "Why didn't you tell me you weren't gonna be on the bus?" Kindle whispered.

"I didn't know.. you know my Step mom and brother officially moved in yesterday, so this morning she out of the blue told us she'd drive us to school," she whispered back.

"Oh my gosh, I totally forgot,"

"I talked about it all day yesterday-"

"Girls." Mr. Simon blurted quickly, and continued to read a paragraph. After class, the girls stood beside Jackie's locker as always. "Oh my god, that means your brother is here right?" Kindle gasped.

"Half Brother, and yes." Jackie groaned, annoyed. "My bad," she laughed "He's just soooo perfect.. his dirty blonde messy hair and light brown eyes go perfectly with his olive skin, ugh!"

"Ew, you too?" They began to walk. "You have to admit he's attractive, I mean maybe not to you because y'all are half siblings but he's still good looking." Kindle groaned.

"He's not that cute." J rolled her eyes. "Oh, and I brought the book." She added.

"Oh! you did? Perfect! Wanna eat lunch outside today?" Her best friend suggested.

"This is coming from someone who hates bugs?" Jackie gasped playfully. "I don't believe it!" she said dramatically and laughed as she pushed J's head to the side lightly, which wasn't so lightly because she ended up bumping heads with her crush. Or more so her forehead bummed into her crushes chin. Kindle shrugged and continued walking. Ugh.

"Ow!" He whined.

"Sorry, My-" She finally caught a glimpse at him. And wow. Is it normal to think your crush gets cuter and cuter everyday you see them? Today he was wearing her favorite color, light green.. though there are only two uniform design color choices, she still liked the color on him.

"It's ok.. You just caught me by surprise.." He rubbed his cheek with his eyes closed. AHHHHHH WHY DID HE DO THAT?? ITS SO ADORABLE I CAN'T. In her mind, she was freaking out, while physically.. she was frozen in her stance with her eyes wide and her face red as a strawberry. When she snapped out of her stillness, Carlos was already walking away with a smile. I'll kill her later, right now I'm too flustered to think. She thought to herself.

"Ew, why the red face?" Ray walked up to his half sister, and to her surprise there was no girl attached to his arm. "Shut up!" She crossed her arms and looked up at him. "No need to get all mean... that girl this morning, do you know if she's single?" He placed his hands in his pockets. "Look.. I don't want anyone to know we're related.. ok?"

"Wow, that's kind-a cruel."

"I'm sorry, I just don't want girls coming to me and asking personal stuff or whatever.. you're becoming 'popular' pretty quickly." Jackie rolled her eyes, "And also, don't act all nice to me! You know you're mean at home." She continued. Yes, it sounds harsh, but I'm sure anyone who has to suffer with siblings understand.

"Oh come on, please? I like her," Ray tilted his head.

"Fine. She has a boyfriend. And don't ruin their relationship for your selfish desires." His sister walked off and went to her last class, leaving his smirk unconfronted. Regardless of what his look meant, she had to get to her next class before she was late for a second time today.
