Yesterday, Mr. Marrs had told me it was in fact the book that changed my appearance, he said that people could know, they just couldn't know any other information like details about the book or pages and things. He also failed to mention that today would be my last day in my regular classes, as of tomorrow... I'll be in a different part of the building to go to class and stay.
A paper-plane flew to the back of Theo's head as he was thinking and complaining to himself. Joshton. Theo turned with a cold glare and at the corner of his eye; saw these two girls giggling, impressed with Joshton's childish daily routine of bothering him. He rolled his eyes, turning back around... still stalling to open the envelope on his desk. Usually, he wouldn't hesitate to open the envelope. Just knowing it was a girl made him a little nervous. Just open it, you have to do it eventually... what are you even nervous about? Slowly... and quietly. He thought as the paper started to rip between his fingers. The profile page slipped out and he felt a warm, red feeling spread throughout his cheeks almost immediately.

Gender: Female
She was a natural red head with very pale, white skin, her hair was tied in a long, curly ponytail with bold black glasses over her brown eyes. I'm supposed to fall in love with her? This has to be the easiest task I've ever had. She's gorgeous. Smiling down at the paper, it took him a while to realize everyone leaving their desks and walking out of the classroom. "She's hot," Lilac laughed from behind the distracted boy and took his book bag. He sat up from his desk and took it from her while also gathering the papers from his desk.
"Thanks," he said out of instinct, since the second week of school she's stopped by his desk and picked up his book bag for him to get up and take his papers so she could give him his book bag back. So he'd have no choice but to walk back with her to their dorms.
"Soooo, Tammy asked me out." She said, as if she were holding the urge to say it for weeks. "Wait, really? What'd you say?"
"Well... I said no of course." She pouted.
"What? Why?" Theo sounded surprised.
"Because... you know the rules, girls can't date girls here, or anywhere." She frowned. "Well, why couldn't you sneak like you sneak everything else?" her friend suggested.
"Ha-ha very funny. It's kind of hard to hide a relationship you know. I talk a lot so, keeping secrets isn't necessarily my thing." She kicked the air gently, her long hair flowing from the motion. "I mean, I don't think it's weird for two girls to date? It has to be a thing somewhere..." She added.
"I'm sure it is, look. The principal said that if we completed these books successfully, it would end our suffering.." Theo blurted without thinking, his mind shot to thinking about how the principal said they'd been suffering for over 100 years. What are we suffering from? Did it mean we were getting less than the real world? Did it mean we held some kind of society hate?
He remembered he was in the middle of a conversation and gave her a weak smile, "never mind." They stopped walking, Theo's room door was just inches away from their stance. "Anyway, are you coming to the pool party this afternoon? It'll be so fun! I know you never go but just one Friday!" His overjoyed friend pleaded, hopping he'd agree and try to be more social for once.
"Can't, I have to pack." He declined, as per usual.
"Pack? For what?" She interrogated.
"Oh I'm, uh- moving to a different part of the school. And I'm moving dorms." He turned the doorknob gently. "Really, why?" She continued her questioning. "No reason." He disappointed her. "Oh come on, you've been so closed off lately." Lilac followed Theo inside of his room and plopped on his bed, crossing her legs while watching him pack.
"Fine. I got a different assignment this year, which is why I have two books.. one is for writing down my experience of supposed love? and creating a definition for it. While the other is as any regular year, except I have to fall in love with her. I don't even know what any of it means!" The boy began to pace around his room with his hands running through his hair. She shrugged "Well.. I'll miss you."
A soft knock grabbed Theo's attention and made him look up from nervously flipping through Jackie's book to see if she had written yet. "Yes?" he said, "Come in?" A guard was standing at the door with a letter. They weren't allowed to speak, at all. He then got up and walked to the guard, taking the letter. "Thank you.."
Dear, Theo Simpson
I assume you have packed. Follow this guard to your new dorm room. Jackie has yet to receive her book because of technical difficulties between the system, don't worry. She will have it by tomorrow. Your room is 309, you are across from Cade Shanon.
Sincerely, Mr. Marrs
Theo nodded at the guard and grabbed his bags that were already packed. Heading downstairs to his new area. It was a long walk. Finally in front of my dorm, or... our dorm? The boy thought as he opened the door to 3 other glowing people. "H-Hi?" He spoke nervously and a bit confused.
"Woah, the red one!" A turquoise guy rushed to hug him. "You must be the one that holds the book of love, right?" He practically yelled. Why is this guy so excited? He spoke again before 'The red one' could say anything. "That right there is Passion!" He pointed to a light orange figure, they were asleep and turned to the side so their gender was difficult to comprehend. They had light orange skin and even lighter orange hair that was puffy with side cuts... with a body outline of a darker orange neon light looking affect. "And the one over there, stay as far away from her as possible... she bites," The blue light whispered. Theo looked over and spotted who he was pointing at. She was a black color... Her skin was a middle light gray while her short messy hair was black and stopped at the end of her ear. With a black neon body outline... she caught his stare with her sharp glare, making him look away immediately. I guess she owns the book of Hate. He swallowed.
"How many times do I have to say you're a horrible whisperer?" She spoke, now glaring at the blue guy... she sat in her seat backwards, her legs on each side while she folded her arms on the top of the back chair. "Who are you?" She got up, walking towards the two boys. "Oh uh- Hi, I'm Theo... I have the love book." He shifted. "Cade." She said, "Book of Hate."
"Oh! My bad! I'm Flinn, Book of Comfort!" Flinn laughed nervously, "And that over there is Azim.. you can go ahead and unpack if you want! make yourself feel comfortable! Your room is the last door on the left," He flashed a huge smile, pointing at the end of the short hallway. This seemed to be the common room. "Thank you." Theo headed to his room.
