Chapter 1: The Mission

Third Person Pov

"I'm going to sleep now. Don't do anything stupid, okay?"

Staring at the monitor, Chaeryeong chuckled at her friend's reminder. "Why would I do anything stupid?" She whispered.

"Hmmm, what will she do now? I don't feel quite good." Holding her chin, Chaeryeong continued to look at the girl from the monitor. Twitching her eyes trying to read what she'll do next.

The girl she's watching is walking at the park holding something. Chaeryeong couldn't see it clearly since the there are no lights in the area.

Something bad is going to happen. I can feel it. She suddenly thought.

The girl only stared at the river for a few minutes while Chaeryeong is impatiently tapping her fingers in the table waiting for the girl's next move.

"Wait... Is she killing herself?! Right now?" There?! Why is she holding a knife near her neck?!" Chaeryeong suddenly shouted pointing at the monitor.

The girl she's observing is now holding a knife at her neck.

Panicking she grabbed her phone and immediately dialed someone. If this person dies, she'll get in trouble. Also, it's not yet her time to die. She must save her.

"Yah! Yuna! Can you pass by the place I'm going to send you? Someone is planning to kill herself there!"

"What?! Gosh, Chaeryeong I'm doing something here!"

"Just do this for me please? She can't die. This person shouldn't die!"

"Why don't you go in there and try to stop her?!"

"I'll get in trouble if I do that. I'll treat you after this, okay? Just do this for me. I'm going to send you the place now bye!"

She can't die. It's not yet her time. Why would she think of killing herself. "What are you doing Yeji?" Chaeryeong whispered looking nervously at girl who's holding a knife near her neck.

Yeji. The girl Chaeryeong has been monitoring for a week. It was given to her as a duty to observe the girl. Well, she couldn't say anything about it, she could just agree.

"Yuna! Where are you?!" Chaeryeong frustratingly shouted.

Yeji placed the knife in her neck. "No! She can't die yet! It's not yet time!"

Luckily, Yuna arrived at time. But Yuna seems to be lost at the park. Chaeryeong suddenly thought that she didn't tell Yuna where Yeji is at the park.

Near the river.

"Go find her now, Yuna!" She shouted at monitor.

Yuna fastly went to the river and calmly talked to Yeji. Chaeryeong don't know what they're talking about but she's sure it calmed Yeji a little bit. Yuna is now holding the knife and Yeji is staring at her blankly.

"Thank God. She's safe." Chaeryeong sighed massaging her temple. "She's stressing me out these days."

"Lee Chaeryeong! What did you do?!"

Her superior called her in his office regarding of what happened earlier.

Chaeryeong jumped out of suprise. "I-I j-just saved her. S-he c-can't die." Chaeryeong stuttered avoiding an eye contact.

"Still! You know that this isn't Yuna's mission right?! That girl isn't assigned to her!"

"I know that. B-but I just can't let that girl die."

Chaeryeong heard a sigh. This is a mess but still she feels happy that she saved the girl, Hwang Yeji.

"Go down there. I'll give you a mission."

Chaeryeong looked up at her superior with widened eyes. "Really?! You're going to send me there?!" She asked with a hint of excitement.

"Yes. Yeji. She's your mission. Help her."

Chaeryeong nodded in agreement and grabbed what her superior gave. A bunch of papers about Yeji.

"Just stay there for a month. No extensions. Do well on your mission."

"I'll do well, sir." Chaeryeong bowed and went outside the office smiling.

"Yes!" Chaeryeong shouted.

This is her first mission after a while. She couldn't help but feel excited.

Chaeryeong is an angel. Angels above are given a mission to help or guide someone in need. Each angel are assigned with one particular person. In order to accomplish their mission they will turn into a person.

Chaeryeong has Yeji. The girl she's been monitoring for a week.

While celebrating for getting her new mission, Chaeryeong saw Yuna leaning at the wall looking at her. "Oh! Yuna, hi!"

Chaeryeong run at Yuna and hugged her. "Thank you for doing my request. Also look, I got my new mission." Chaeryeong waved the papers in the air that made Yuna chuckle.

"You're happy now, huh?" Yuna smirked.

Chaeryeong nodded. She missed this. Getting missions. She stayed here for a while to make everything organized and peaceful.

"By the way, how's Yeji?" Chaeryeong worriedly asked.

Yuna frowned hearing the girl's name. Yeji is not as easy at it seems. Yuna actually had a hard time. "Seems like you're going to have a hard time doing your mission."

"Really? Why?" Chaeryeong asked out of curiosity. From her perspective, Yeji seems kind. For her doing three things for Yeji is easy.

"You'll know why when you go there." Yuna tapped Chaeryeong's shoulder before going into the office.

"Oh by the way, if you need some help down there. Just find her. She's a friend of mine." Yuna gave Chaeryeong a piece of paper.

"Oh so you have a friend down there huh? Thank you for this!"

"You're welcome, Chae." Yuna smiled and went inside the office.

"You ready?" Yuna asked Chaeryeong. It's time for her to go now. Chaeryeong was only given three days to prepare for the mission.

"Yup. I'm ready. Feeling nervous though." Chaeryeong laughed.

"That's normal. Here, read this your mission then you'll dissipate and will go there." Yuna gave Chaeryeong a piece of paper.

Everytime angels are going to the land. They need to read their mission again first. This is in order to completely remember what they need to do when they arrived there. After reading it they will dissipate and turn into a person.

"I know that. You can go now, Yuna. I guess see you there." Chaeryeong smiled.

"See you there, Chaeryeong." Yuna just stared at her friend. She's quite worried about her since it's been a while but she knows that Chaeryeong's gonna do her mission well.

Alone in the room. Chaeryeong took a deep breath before reading her mission.

Angel Chaeryeong, here's your mission. You are tasked to help and guide Yeji. A girl who's 23 yrs old. Yeji is a person who needs healing in her heart. In order to help her, you need to do three things.

1. Make Yeji smile.
2. Make Yeji love herself.
3. Make Yeji feel geniune happiness.

These are the three things you need to do in order to help her. You are given 1 month to accomplish your mission. You will go back to the heaven regardless of the result. Goodluck on your mission.

Chaeryeong took a deep breath and tried to relax herself. "Let's do this. Let's help her."

Angel Chaeryeong, your mission now begins.
