Ronan and Reagan climbed on their horses, going after the men who took Rhea. The knights followed them both. Kane was on foot, running as fast as he could to save Meela.
She landed on the cart, but she slipped off. She was barely hanging onto it. The cart was moving too fast. She couldn't let her legs touch the ground or she could risk breaking them. With one hand steady on the cart, Meela grabbed the frightened child. She wanted to pull her out from the cart but the kidnapper had his blade with him, ready to stab Meela.
Meela swung her leg to climb on the cart and she lets Rhea go to grab the man's wrist, pulling him down. The man fell to the ground and the other kidnapper realized what happened but before he could grab Rhea, Meela pulled her by the back of her tunic. Holding her steady, Meela lets the cart go and they both went tumbling down. It was quite a fall.
Meela yelped in pain when her arm throbbed but she had no time to spare. She quickly crawled to Rhea to find out if she was alright.
'Rhea?! Look at me! Are you hurt??' Meela roughly shook the little girl's shoulders. She sighed in relief when she found that Rhea was just a little shocked. She only had small cuts and bruises. Other than that she was completely alright.
The other kidnapper who was already on the ground tried to sneak behind Meela while she inspected Rhea for wounds. He drew his dagger to stab her but Meela swiftly turned and dodged it.
He tried stabbing her again but she tilted her body, avoiding the sharp blade, and swung her fist to his throat. The man grabbed his neck, looking horrified as he fell coughing, trying to breathe some air. Meela then noticed something about the kidnapper. On his wrist was black ink in the shape of a triangle.
Kane was there first, pulling the man by his collar and interrogating him. He punched him when he refused to answer but still he never uttered a word. Reagan was there too while Ronan and a party of knights rode past them to capture the other captor.
'Scar!! We want him alive.' Reagan reminds him to stop Kane from bludgeoning the kidnapper to death. He growled at the criminal, dropping him. Meanwhile, Reagan quickly carries a shaking Rhea. The poor child was too frightened.
'You're fine Rhea, we got you,' Reagan leaned his forehead against hers, holding her tight to calm her down. He then looks at Meela, almost tearing up.
'Thank you, Meela' he was trembling. If it wasn't for her heroic actions, Rhea would've been long gone. Meela only nods, choosing to not say anything. She was just looking at the little girl who was too shook, hanging onto her brother. Thankfully Rhea wasn't hysterical.
'Your arm,' Kane suddenly spoke.
Meela realized that he was actually talking to her. Kane was staring at Meela's shoulder and following him, she too looked at her arm. She knew why it was throbbing earlier, her shoulder was dislocated.
'Oh,' was all she said and without any hesitation, she pushed her shoulder back in. A loud crack was heard followed by her groans. Meela squeezed her eyes shut. She breathed in and out, controlling her tears. No matter how many times she did it, she never got used to the pain.
Kane couldn't believe his eyes at all. She corrected her own wounded arm, just like that! His eyes went wide and he was unsure whether to be horrified or impressed with her.
'MEELA!!'
It was the King.
Everyone immediately bowed, even Meela. The King stormed for her and took her in his arms. Meela lets out a sharp cry as he pressed on her injured arm.
'Meela, I am forever indebted to you! Thank you! Thank you for saving my child!' The King cries.
'It's fine uncle. She is my family too,' she says, smiling.
