9 - Chaos

Shock was plastered on her face.

Thea? Why? Why would Thea?
Did Raven know?
Her uncle..her aunt..they couldn't be dead..

But she saw the man. He wasn't lying. The Queen and King were in fact, dead. Killed by their very own friend.

She couldn't breathe. She couldn't move. She couldn't even stand. What would happen to her now? What would happen to Ronan? Her father? Reagan? Rhea?

Ava grabbed Meela's hand and they both fled as fast as they could. Meela was carrying her dress in one hand, trying to escape from being seen by the knights who were now surrounding the city.

She still couldn't believe what happened.

Lady Thea, that ungrateful, vile bitch killed the King and Queen and took control of Cagred.

Did Raven know any of this? Was it why she made Kane bring her to the market? Did she know her mother's plan all along? Was she an accomplice too?

Meela was enraged.

'Where are we going?' She asked Ava in between her breaths.

'A brothel in South Ale, Milady.'

Meela stopped running and grabbed Ava's hand. South Ale was a southern part of the city where no men in their right mind would go. It was a dangerous place, filled with notorious criminals. 

'You want to bring me to a brothel?! In South Ale?!' She demands angrily.

'Milady we don't have a choice, please. Everywhere else is going to be filled with knights looking for you. That's the only place you can hide.'

Meela hesitated for a moment.

Hiding in a brothel was the last place she'd want to be. But it would keep the knights away. The brothel would be the last place they'd look. Kane would be furious if he found out but she didn't have a choice. She had to follow this woman right now.

And so she did.

They passed by dark alleys, avoiding the main roads to prevent being caught. They couldn't risk anyone recognising Meela.

They were almost reaching the brothel Ava was intending to bring Meela when suddenly out of nowhere a man appeared and slammed Ava against the wall.

'Look who I found!' The man spoke.

'Leave me alone!' Ava yelled at his face. As a result he punched her stomach. She coughed and mewled in pain, struggling against his grip.

'You're all alone now, bitch. And look you brought a friend,' the man turned towards Meela, an evil grin formed on his face.

He then disgustingly groped Ava's breasts and she screamed trying to escape his assaults. Meela whipped out the dagger that she tucked safely on her calf and stabbed his back. He didn't even make a sound and fell on Ava dead, spraying blood on her face. Ava lost it and started screaming even louder.

Meela pushed the raper's body and gagged Ava with her hands, but Ava struggled to be released.

'Shhhh quiet. Stop shouting! Someone will find us. Shut upppp. Look at me. Ava, look at me!'
