Akshay:
I went to the home and Netra was there with the children. Netra hugged me.
"I was so worried," Netra said and I wiped her tears away. Vikranth hugged me with the affection for the first time. I know he never likes me but something changed in him now which I clearly notice. We had the dinner together. Abhaya and Kalki went to their rooms after the dinner. We settled in the living room.
"I am sorry, Netra. I am the only one whom you have from your maternal family. But I left you as you married Akshay leaving Jeevith. As I am among this society, I couldn't accept your decision. But today I really understood that your decision is right," Vikranth said.
"Vikranth, marriage is definitely a sacred bonding. I definitely agree with it. People preach and teach a lot about respecting marriage and how an ideal daughter-in-law or wife should be. But no one talks about how a husband should be. Most of the girls compromise and try to save the marriage but if they decide to break the marriage, it means they might have faced a lot. Not everything that's unbearable should be physical harassment or torture.
I agree that Jeevith is a good person but not a husband of my dreams. Jeevith wants me and needs me only when everything is alright but whenever I get into a problem, he chooses to escape. I can't trust such a person completely and share my life with him forever.
I don't mean that I married Akshay because he clears all my issues. No, Akshay never solves my issues but the way he inspires and the confidence he gives to me can make me to handle any situation and solve any problem. Before and after our marriage, Akshay never left my side. I never feel alone because I can trust Akshay blindly that whatever the issue may be, he will be with me for sure. That trust and confidence made me choose Akshay over Jeevith," Netra said holding my hand.
"You are lucky to have Akshay as your husband, Netra," Vikranth said.
After having a chitchat for sometime, Vikranth left to his place. At night, I noticed Netra thinking something deeply.
"Netra, is everything fine with you?" I said.
Netra nodded.
"What's bothering you?" I said.
"Akshay, the message you gave to the citizens today is awesome. I am just thinking that is it really possible to stop blaming others and being responsible in life," Netra said.
"Do you think I am wrong in giving such a message to the students?" I said thinking about her question.
"We should walk our talk or stop preaching," Netra said.
"Do you think that I am not responsible in my life?" I said as I don't understand what she meant to say.
"Akshay, you are a responsible father and husband. But...." Netra stopped her words.
"But? Complete it, Netra. Tell me what you want to say. I am not getting it."
"You should also be a responsible son," Netra said.
"Netra," I shouted at her remembering the past. Netra held my hands, patting on them slowly.
"Akshay, everything we assume is not always true. Judging a person is quite easy but understanding their pain is always tough."
I didn't say anything. I know Netra is right but I am not wrong. I can never forget the pain given by my mom in my childhood.
"Akshay, if you think you can't forgive your mom for what happened with you in the past, how do you think that I forgave you for what you did to me in the past?"
"Netra," I said as I know well that I was wrong in the past and now I can't live without her.
"Don't worry, Akshay. I am not going to leave you. Because I forgave you and understood your pain behind your rudeness."
I closed my eyes remembering the past. Until my father's death, I lived a happy life. But his death changed everything. As soon as my father was dead, my mom kept an affair with someone of her choice.
My mom didn't talk to me after my dad's death. I craved for her love but all I received is her silence. There were times where she hit me without a reason. When I was 10 years old, my mom left me. Everyone said that she left with her lover.
I worked in hotel, shop etc to earn my livelihood. Netra's mom used to give me food sometimes and thus, I know Netra. I loved Netra for her innocense and cuteness. After few years, her mom got paralyzed. I took Netra's responsibility. But whenever I see Netra talking to other boys or goes anywhere without telling me, I used to hit her with belt as I assumed that Netra will leave me one day as my mom did. I used to starve her to make her listen to me. Netra being a kid bore my torture silently.
When Netra's marriage was fixed with Jeevith, I thought Netra would be happy to leave me but she came to me and cried saying she doesn't want to leave me. That's when I realized what love is. And that's why I left Netra assuming that she would get a better life and family if she marries Jeevith.
However, I was proved wrong when I came to know about Netra being forced into prostitution from her father. Then, I went to meet Netra after a long struggle. My heart wrenched seeing Netra in that situation. When she recognized me, she blamed me for everything that has happened to her. I accepted her anger, frustration and pain. I decided to do whatever I can to free her from there.
It took years for me to free her from there. I completed my study and faced lot of insults and hardships to become a successful politician. As soon as I reached a position in politics, I thought of bringing Netra to me but unfortunately the short circuit took place in the building where Netra stayed. I rushed to her and she was in critical stage. However, I was able to save her. After that, Netra transformed into a strong, independent and bold woman.
"Akshay, pain shouldn't be a reason to make us forget our true self. Or avoid our responsibility."
As tears appeared in my eyes, I stayed silent. Netra made me sleep on her lap.
"Akshay, your mom lost mental stability after losing your dad. She was married against her wish to your dad. Your dad married her to satisfy his ego. Your mom rejected your dad when he proposed her as she is already in love with someone. He created a scene saying that your mom got intimated with him and married her.
After the marriage, he doubted your mom and tortured her every day. He got her addicted to drugs to keep her in his control. After his death, as she didn't get the drugs, she lost her sanity. Her parents hated her as they thought she got intimate with your father before their marriage. So, they left her.
Luckily, the person who loved your mom came to her rescue. He helped her to heal. She used to hit you because of her frustration for not getting the drugs. She was admitted in a rehabilitation center but didn't elope with her lover. He tried to take you with him but you hated him so much and escaped from him. He didn't marry anyone until now. Your mom returned after the treatment for you but your hatred broke her completely.
Your mom faced a lot in her life without her mistake. Her parents, husband and now even her son hate her assuming everything as her fault. Akshay, you arw mature enough to understand everything and everyone. So, now I am leaving it to your choice to do whatever you want.
Just understand this. If her happiness is the only thing that matters to her, why is she staying at the Home run by you as an orphan without marrying her lover for all these years? I don’t force you to accept her because it should be your decision," Netra said, kissing me on my forehead.
Hi friends, how is the episode? What do you think about Akshay's past? Do you think he should accept her mom or not? Is Netra right in supporting his mom?
