Purpose, Not Relationship

Netra:

I chose to be silent these days than to hurt Akshay. I feel he might go away from me or becomes closer to Sadhana, if I talk anything wrong. Akshay dropped me at the office and kissed on the forehead before bidding bye.

Serena brought the file of the new project and told me that the project require the permission from the Central Home Minister.

"Serena, can't we manage by getting the permission from any other minister?" I asked to which Serena gave a shocking expression.

"Madam, Akshay sir is your husband. Why are you in tension to get him signed on your file? I never saw you this nervous," Serena said.

That's the problem. I can make any minister sign on it by hook or crook but if it's Akshay, definitely he will pose several questions to me and moreover as I am his wife, he will be more careful as he doesn't want anyone to blame him.

"Nothing, I will talk to Akshay," I said pretending to be confident.

I went to his office and the staff recognised me.

"Madam, please come," Akshay's PA said.

"Is Akshay sir free to talk," I asked him.

"Madam, you are Akshay sir's wife. You can meet him anytime," the PA said.

I knocked on the door and then slowly opened it. Akshay surprised looking at me.

"Netra, what a surprise! Come in," Akshay said.

I smiled and went inside.

"Netra is my wife. She never comes to my office. I don't know what made her meet me in the office today," Akshay said introducing me to someone who is in Akshay's chamber. I smiled at him and sat on the chair shown by Akshay to me. After a few minutes, that guy left and Akshay looked at me.

"Sweetheart, why did you surprise me at once this way?" Akshay asked.

Akshay called the office boy and ordered coffee for me. I gave the file to Akshay. He read it and then looked at me.

"Did you come here for official work?" Akshay asked me and I nodded.

"Then take my appointment and submit the file as per the procedure for my signature. Now you can leave Mrs Netra," Akshay said.

"Akshay, I am your wife. Do you want me to take the appointment?" I said almost in a shouting tone.

"As you are my wife, you are still here and able to shout at me," Akshay said.

"Netra, please try to understand what I meant to tell you. I didn't want to hurt you. But we need to go by rules. No one should think that I gave the permission because you are my wife."

"Fine, I will leave," I said seriously and Akshay smiled at me.

"Have the coffee and then leave. Sit for sometime and let me forget my work stress by enjoying your presence," Akshay said.

"Is this not against the rules?" I said.

"Netra can never take a no and when it's from her husband, it makes her feel insulted than making her proud of her husband's sincerity," Akshay said giving his stupid smile.

I had the coffee and Akshay came downstairs along with me.

"Sweetheart, if you leave your anger then you will understand that I am right," Akshay said.

I didn't answer Akshay and got into my car to reach my office. I called his PA to take Akshay's appointment. His schedule is completely booked for a week. After that they gave appointment to me. Should I wait for 7 days just to submit the file? If it's not Akshay, it takes a day or two for me to complete the whole procedure.

In the evening, I went to home and found Akshay and Sadhana discussing something very seriously. I didn't disturb them and went directly to my room. After an hour, I came downstairs and found Akshay signing on a few documents with his official seal.

I didn't ask him anything because I clearly understood that Sadhana is important to Akshay than me. I realised that nothing would happen even if I fight with Akshay over this issue again. He wants me to follow the procedure but in the case of Sadhana, he is ready to keep all the rules and regulations aside and give his sign immediately on the documents.

After the dinner, I laid on the bed to sleep as quickly as possible because I don't want to hear any unnecessary explanation from Akshay. Akshay came to the room and switched the light on.

"Get up, Netra. I want to talk to you," Akshay said.

I got up and sat on the bed. Akshay sat beside me and held my hands to kiss them.

"I love you, Netra," Akshay said and I didn't say anything. In the next minute, Akshay pulled me into his lap and hugged me so tight from the behind.

"Sweetheart, I know you are hurt and confused with my behaviour. You have seen me signing on the documents shown by Sadhana, but you didn't know what are those documents and why did I sign them at home and not in office. You should never come to a conclusion without knowing the whole story."

"Akshay, leave me. I feel sleepy. I want to take a rest," I said and Akshay left the hold over my waist.

I was about to sleep but Akshay held me again. He kissed my back and moved his fingers on my belly. Then he started placing wet kisses on my back and on my shoulder.

Akshay turned me towards him and kissed my forehead, eyes, nose and lips. He made me sleep on the bed. He buried his face in my neck and kissed me. He teased me by moving his tongue around my neck. I clutched the bed sheet feeling his body over mine. I didn't notice when he has removed our clothes. Akshay kissed me all over my body and then he made love to me. He smiled and pulled me into his arms and kissed me on my temple.

"Nothing can give me this happiness or peace except you being in my arms with a smile on your face," Akshay said and I hugged more tightly.

"And nothing can make me so upset except you shedding tears because of me," Akshay said.

I looked at Akshay as I understood the meaning in his words.

"Netra, I am not giving more importance to Sadhana over you. You want me to sign on the documents that belongs to your business. But those papers brought by Sadhana are different. I gave importance to the purpose of those documents but not to Sadhana. If she too have brought the business documents, I would have definitely asked her to follow the procedure. Please understand this. And don't you remember me signing on the documents of the Home established by you for women victims at my house, and I didn't ask you to follow the procedure though you have taken my appointment for that?"

I nodded.

"Earlier you used to go by procedure and rules when need your documents to be signed by any minister. But now you are using your influence or wealth to get your documents signed quickly by any minister. You have changed after being successful in the business world. But I don't change. I am not bothered about the relationship I have with the person, but I always give the priority to the purpose. Hope I made everything clear to you," Akshay said.

I nodded and then he made me sleep on his chest. Slowly I went into sleep as Akshay caressed my hairs.
