"Come on, Vati," Athena called, "you need to hurry up, or we are going to be late."

"I'm coming; I'm coming," Abraham promised as he came down the stairs.

"Good," Artemis told him, "you promised to come, and you can't miss the last night before I'm re-deployed."

"I wouldn't dream of it," Abraham assured Artemis as he placed a loving kiss on her head.

Now had you placed Abraham and his two daughters next to each other, you would not have thought that there were related. Dr Abraham Erskine was a relatively short german with a rapidly receding hairline. He called two stunningly beautiful, tall women with full heads of red hair his daughters. The two were most certainly not german, one of the most apparent notions of their adoption. However, they did both have powerful German accents.

"I'm honestly impressed I managed to pull both you and Athena from your work," Artemis joked, "though I do wonder if Stark being there is why Athena was so easy to convince."

"Hey!" Athena shouted from the front door where she was trying to pull her shoes on, "I want to go because I helped Stark design half the stuff there!"

"Yes, yes," Artemis laughed, "we all know that you are super smart!"

Now some people might have thought that this would be a point of contention between the siblings. Some might have thought that Athena was so clever because Abraham spent all his time with her. Or maybe when she showed an interest, he focused only on her. This was completely wrong and couldn't be further from the truth. Both Abraham and his wife Ottilia had showered love equally on the siblings. When the two siblings grew up and found what they loved in life, they then spent more time with the parent who could help them achieve their dream. Artemis knew that Athenas and Abraham were slightly closer than she was with her father. The same had been with Artemis and Ottilia. The two had bonded over their love of protecting the weak and martial arts. When Ottilia had been killed, Abraham had tried his best to fill that gap. But Athena and Artemis never begrudge their parents for anything. Artemis was unbelievably proud of her sister for being so bright, and Athena was supportive as could be of her sister for joining the military.

"I'm ready," Athena called, "we are just waiting on you, Vati!"

"I'm almost ready," Abraham promised as he pulled his shoes on.

"Let's go," Artemis commanded as she opened the door and stepped out.

Athena followed out after her; they waited outside so Abraham could pull the door closed. When the door was shut and locked, the family of three started on their way to the Stark expo.

Thanks to the close connection between the family and Howard Stark himself, the three got their ticket for free and were ushered in the back. Athena, who upon spotting Howard, had run up to him.
