The Erskine family were tired. Tired of running, tired of being prosecuted and tired of being tired. They had been forced to leave their home country of Germany. Pushed out by people who thought their beliefs were an abomination. People who thought they should be killed at the roots like a weed. The Erskine family had been forced to leave, losing their beloved Ottilia on the way. Ottilia had gone down fighting to save her family, for no one would touch a hair on her precious family's head without having to face the wrath of Ottilia.
Ottilia was a brave warrior queen. Or at least that was how Athena and Artemis always thought of her. They knew their father Abraham would agree. But they tried not to bring up Ottilia to him unless he brought her up first. Ottilia was and would always be the family's guardian angel. First, she led that role of the earth with them and then Ottilia led it from above, looking after them. The Erskine family loved each other, but the loss of their guardian angel would forever change them.
So, I shall tell you the story of Athena and Artemis Erskine. They were brought into this world by a woman they would never know. But that didn't matter to them as they had the Erskine's. Despite knowing that they were adopted, Athena and Artemis always thought that the Erskine's were their parents in the truest sense of the word. For Athena and Artemis had come into this world together, and they would be dammed if they didn't leave it together.
