Athena was stood in the quinjet next to Steve.
"I like the new uniform," Athen told Steve as she stood on her tiptoes to kiss him on the nose.
"Thank you," Steve smiled as he looked down at the shield. Athena smiled at the way that his cheeks had gone slightly pink. He had always been fond of the suit.
"What's the plan, Captain," Natasha called back as Athena and Steve had been staring into each other's eyes.
"I'm going to go down and make sure the citizens are okay," Steve directed. Athena could tell that he had gone into captain mode, "Natasha, I need you to stay up here and cover me with the Quinjet."
"Okay," Natasha nodded.
Steve then turned to Athena, "I need you to stay up here as a backup. If you think I need cover, then you come down. I need a path of escalation," Steve told Athena.
"Yes, captain," Athena nodded.
Athena looked out the window to see that Loki was walking through a crowd of kneeling people. That is until one gentleman stood up.
"Not to men like you," the man told Loki.
"There are no men like me," Loki laughed.
"There are always men like you," the man told him.
"Look to your elder, people," Loki instructed as he pointed with the sceptre. "Let him be an example."
Just as Loki fired the sceptre, Steve landed between the man and Loki. His shield raised as she sent the blast back at Loki. Loki was thrown onto his face by the force of the blow.
"You know," Steve commented as he walked towards Loki. Athen could see as all the people around him stood up, empowered by the man's show of strength. "The last time I was in Germany and saw a man standing above everybody else, we ended up disagreeing.
"The soldier," Loki sneered as he stood up, "is you, little scientist, here?" Loki mocked, "The man and women out of time."
"I'm not the one who's out of time," Steve told him.
Natasha chose that as the moment to prepare in the quinjet. The machine gun pointed at Loki. "Loki, drop the weapon and stand down," Natasha instructed.
Loki smiled, completely ignoring her command. Instead, Loki sent a blast of energy at the Quinjet that Natasha barely dogged.
Athens righted herself in time to see Steve throw the shield at Loki. But instead of it doing anything, Loki batted it away as if it was a pesky fly and not a Vibranum weapon. Steve, undeterred, ran at Loki. Athena watched, not sure when to intervene as Steve seemed to be handling it well. That was before she watched Loki hit Steve in the back, sending him flying. Loki then stalked towards Steve.
