~Lilys pov~
I gasped as I awoke with sweat dripping present on my forehead - lovely. I frantically looked around to check if Izzy was actually safe and felt relief flood through me as I saw she was safely tucked up in bed still. It was just a dream...thank goodness.
Sighing as I realized there was no way I was going to fall back asleep now, I turned over to face the tatty old alarm clock that's next to my bed. Only 5:30. I may as well start getting ready - and perhaps I could make some breakfast for Iz and I so that we could have it in our room and avoid the 'monster' a little while longer.
Rolling out of my bed I walked over to the small wardrobe we share and looked for what to wear. It wasn't as if I was bothered about whether I looked good or not, I would get bullied either way. But, there's always hope.
I grabbed a pair of faded light blue jeans, a sort of matching blue and white patterned top and added some pale blue earrings. When they were layed out on my bed, I walked out of me and Izzy's cramped room to the small bathroom we all shared. I turned on the hot water, stepped into the shower and sighed as the hot water soothed the numerous bruises that decorated my body. After about 15 minutes I realized I couldn't delay this day any longer and so went to get changed. Having thrown the clothes that I had previously picked out on, I tiptoed to our kitchen and poured cereal into two chipped bowls, added milk and walked back upstairs. Since it was now around 6:30 I gently woke Iz up.
"Morning Lily" she greeted me drowsily, still half asleep.
"Morning Iz, I made ya some cheerios." At this she awoke fully and sat up, that girl sure loved her food.
"thanks Lil, you sure know how to wake me up in the morning" She told me with a lopsided grin. Her grin then faded however as she asked me in a more hushed tone "is it awake yet?"
Laughing at her previous comment I then told her the answer that I was certain she would be pleased to hear. "no Iz, but hurry up and get ready because then we might be able to escape to school before he sees us"
"Okay dokey then"
It seems quite odd really to say that school is your escape, especially when you get bullied. But truthfully, I would take what I get at school ten times over if that meant I could get away from my 'dad'.
Sighing to myself I devoured the rest of my cereal and started drying my mob of unruly dark curls. When I was confident that it didn't look as though I had just gone swimming, I pinned my hair back. Searching around I found a bag to use for school and stuffed the equipment that I needed for the day inside. Done.
I then realized that i hadn't packed anything for the unpredictable British weather and quickly jammed my umbrella and glasses into the bag - just in case.
"Iz, you ready?" I called over.
"Um...yep! Just let me grab my bag."
Silently we walked downstairs and managed to reach the door. To celebrate not being caught we did our little victory high five. Just as I put my hand on the handle to actually open the door so we could get out, a loud echoing voice made us both jump and cringe, "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING?!"
Oh no...
