~Lily's pov ~
The sound of a loud bell ringing brought me back to consciousness. Groaning in pain I tried to stand up which only resulted in me falling over again.
Most people in my situation would now go to see the school nurse and make up some lie about the bruises and ask to be sent home. But.... I couldn't do that, obvious reasons. Home is still way worse than school right now.
And I can't just miss class because getting a scholarship into a good college somewhere is my ticket out of here.
After debating my options, I pulled my bag close to me and brought out the make up I only used for occasions like this. I put foundation on most of my bruises that decorated my skin making them seem less bad/ alarming and added some to my face just in case any scars were showing there.
Now for the hard bit.... Walking.
Biting my lip, I grabbed onto the nearby dumpster and dragged myself up. Then I turned to the direction of the nurses office.
Still not letting go of my lip, I hobbled over to the nurses office inside the building. Now I just hope I can act believable, so that they think no one injured me, it was just me being clumsy.
Then no one will suspect i'm being bullied which means there would be no need to contact my 'dad'. The phone call wouldn't do any good against the bullying anyway, my dad would probably demand to see the guys who did this to me and then congratulate them. Yup. Crappy parent of the year award definitely goes to him.
But as much as I hate him I can't have anyone know about all the abuse that goes on at home. Then me and Izzie would be sent to foster homes and probably separated, I can't loose my little sister, I made a promise to her that I would protect her. She's the only thing that's keeping me from running away from this damn city right now.
So I refuse to let that happen - for us to get separated in the foster system . She is all I have left.
* I guess this was a filler chapter but things are still slowly building up so yeah :)
